Im new, I dont know what to do...
Hey, enough with Joe Dirt, what do I do? Keep building and let the creepy guys keep attacking me? I beat up the deer, that was cool, but anything else (kited hiim and plinked away from 3 floors up), I just dont seem to be making progress. Im still collecting blueberries. The skeletons kick the crap outta me, is there a noob zone?

Yeah man, I really hate it when people cheese Brock's Onix with Water Gun or Vine Whip. They probably just suck and need to practice.
Lmao what? Sorry I don't speak children's game. OP literally said "plinked away from 3 stories up". If you have to abuse pathfinding to beat the first boss, yeah, you need practice.

Build improvements near your workbench and upgrade your armor and weapons.

Noob zone is Meadows. If you had to cheese Eikthyr with arrows, you might just be really bad and need to practice. No real way to sugarcoat that, he should've been an absolute cakewalk.
Learn how to parry, how the blocking system works, learn how to manage stamina, and how to roll. Game is easy once you learn how to do it.

It's just the way some people are, especially the ones that build their ego from video games. There should obviously be nothing wrong with killing the first boss with a bow. Or even in using the games building mechanics to be more creative. These are obvious mechanics of the game that are meant to be used.

Definitely watch out for those skeletons. They aggro on absolutely everyone because they think it makes them look cool.
However it is fun to run them past the greydwarves and watch the sparks fly.

Build (or fix up) a couple houses. Build new stuff. Create better armour/weapons. Go exploring.
You will unlock new items along the way.

Meadows is the newb zone. Sounds like you were in the black forest if you were getting blueberries and skeletons. My advice is to make a base in the meadows next to the black forest. Use the pick axe you got from Eikthyr to dig a trench around your base with steep enough sides that you need a ladder to get out. A single wood beam will let you cross but nothing else can follow you. Once that's done, lure a giant troll back to your base. You can hit it with arrows from safety because he can't cross the ditch.
Once you have some troll armor, the rest will get easier. Clear out a crypt and you'll know what to do next.

Thank you for the honest replies, I just wasnt sure I was on the right track. For a while, I saw nothing aggressive, then all of a sudden it was non-stop. With Eikthyr, lol it was funny as hell, good story to tell you in person. But, it was a learning experience in the game and I know I have to fight more than just build.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

The very start is where you see those Standing Stones with the chains on them. You are supposed to summon and beat a Boss per zone. Each boss has a stone that tells you where his Altar is at, then you need a certain number of a certain item to summon him. Once killed he will drop his Head and an item that lets you progress further. The Head you are supposed to hang on the Starting Stones so you can get access to a Special skill. Hey, enough with Joe Dirt, what do I do?
The first Boss is Eikthyr. You will need 2 Deer Trophy and use them at his Altar to summon him. Once beat, you get a couple Hard antler from him, so you can build the first Pickaxe to destroy Stone.
If you hang his head on the Stones you gain access to his "Forsaken Power" which "Reduces stamina cost of running and jumping by 60%".
The other bosses work similar, you have to find a "Vegvisir" Stone that shows the location of their Altar on the Map, then travel there and bring a sacrifice to summon them.

Killing Battery-powered Bambi nets you hard antlers. You use these to make your first pickax.
With the pickax, you mine copper and tin. These deposits are found in the Black Forest and they both look far different than the other.
With these two ore types, you can create bronze, at this point you have reached the bronze age.
After this you should notice a pattern in the game gear-wise.

One of my favorite pastimes is summoning multiple Eikthyrs at once. ;3 And let me tell you, the boss fight gets thundery and blundery. And fun as hell. XD

+1
Just be careful in the black forest. Until you get better gear, you're going to a little underpowered compared to the stuff in there.
Be on constant lookout for trolls, you can usually see them very far away. Sometimes they stand still too, especially while on the shoreline. I've nearly blundered into one or two just because I expected to see them moving. I literally said to myself once "oh, that's a cool statue... wait". Wasn't a statue.
Stay out of the black forest at night, it's crawling with grey dwarf enemies, until you gear up a bit.
Another thing to look out for are burial chambers. usually a henge (big flat rocks standing upright, like stonehenge), and a small building made of stone slabs with stairs leading down. Also guarded by skeletons usually. You want to explore those. You'll get some good loot, treasure, kill more skeletons, and find another crucial material surtling cores, look like red and black cubes. You need them to make furnaces and portals, both super important items

Also learn to manage your foods, queens jam is a really good one early game. Also explore the meadows for abandoned homes and find bee hives to you can make honey.
