It took me a long time to find burial chambers, the Black Forests that I found early on in my first map had very few near my starting area. Eventually I found plenty of them but I had to explore a lot. Sometimes you'll luck out and find a lot of crypts in the very first swamp you find, usually you won't. Good luck, I hope you find more iron than you need!

1. bring a hoe to raise paths in the swamp to avoid getting bogged down in water, easier to fight, and avoid the leeches
2. At first I used the stagbreaker to kill the leeches. but I find bow and arrow much easier.
3. poison potions and stamina are needed
4. Most things in the swamp are killed with clubs. That and a bow wiill do you just fine
5. Bring a pick axe or two. Once you get into the cryps to chip away and get the iron.
6. Collect as much entrails from the Draugr, blood bags from the leeches, thistle will be key for ingrediates like sausages, and ...
7. FOR THE LOVE of GOD, if you find turnips.... rejoice and make sure you plan them right away, as Turnip Stew is a great mid game inito late game food.
8. Armor choice can vary. I prefer Troll to bounce around the swamps, no movement penalty, but have the best shield and club you can get. And make iron pickaxes, club and iron shield as soon as you can. I usually skip over bronze armor entirely

Just an added comment. if you find a huge swamp that is a great place to build a base nearby as Iron is the midgame and also comes back to upgrade some end game stuff. If you can find a huge swamp next to some plans (to plant barley), with access to a mountain, and Black Forest nearby, just to collect mats, on the water for boat access, youv'e found a great spot for a long term base.

just sailing around the area may not be getting you close enough to see the crypts .put your key somewhere safe explore inside the swamps until you find 2 or 3 crypts near by then build a tree house using the large trees that can not take damage set up a portal to your main base and put some storage chests ready to store your iron scraps+ a bed to create a spawn point in case of death ,clear a path to the coast that allows you to pull a cart over to get your iron to your boat.if you don't want to risk a boat journey with your iron you have choice to use a mod that allows ore through portals some players hate using portals to transport ore other don't if your just playing solo play as you wish if joining a server for multiplayer then abide by their rules on this

just type in your map seed and you'll find everything you're looking for. I like this because world hoping is less immersive and i'm too lazy to sail to every nook and cranny

There might be a couple dozen swamp areas on your map of varying size. Small ones will have few or no crypts. Larger ones might have a dozen or more. It's rare to be able to spot one from a boat. You usually have to venture into one to find them.

Crypts arent tall , these are like little bunkers and the entrances has green torches and u need the swamp key from the elder to unlock the iron doors

Yes I have the swamp key, fortunately I havent lost it yet....i have seen the green torches on the trees. Is that a clue for me?

The green on the trees is the Guck you gather. The Crypts are slimey black/green stone block small buildings that are easy to miss except for the two green torches at the gates. Some Swamps have none, some have a couple, some have lots. I have found three Swamps on my Map and only one Swamp has Crypts, about 5 of them. There is alot of exploring that needs to be done for everything. Make sure to level up your swimming cause you'll be sailing alot.

Thin strips of swamps typically won't have crypts but they are good to farm up other resources.

You want a larger and wider swamp. You typically won't see crypts from a boat unless they are really close to the water edge.

Most smaller swamps won't have any crypts. Some may have one, but I have seen larger swamps with over 20 crypts.

When you are out exploring, if you are worried about death and losing the key, I would suggest leaving the key at home and putting a portal on top of the crypt entrance when you find one. Makes it easier to jump back and repair as well.
