Until u get a permanent health increase from killing each Boss akin to Ocarina of Time for example, this game will always be a needless grind for food. Imagine playing BOTW and only having 3 hearts for the entire game and needing to eat food ALL the time to increase max stamina or health lmfao. Can u imagine how tedious that'd be? Oh right we have Valheim : D

Its dumb and adds nothing to the gameplay. Just add a thirst and hunger bar already and give out max HP upgrades for killing bosses or whatnot. Or at least make it an item u have to equip or something.

Meanwhile i want to cheat and get some cheap stamina food in plains in leather armor.

It's refreshing to see a post embracing the difficulties of the game, instead of crying about them.

It's part of why I like this game. One day I'll feel like a total bad*** as I utterly destroy a troll raid. The next I'm desperately fighting the RNG that's absolutely determined to kill me via a series of events that included: draugr elites in the crypt I was raiding for iron, double wraith attack as I exit in an area already surrounded by a triple spawner flanked by two geysers, heavy storm rolling in as I try to sail home with my hard earned ore that saw 3 different serpents trying to eat my poor karve while the waves tried to break it apart, and finally getting home only to be greeted by a drake raid (multiplayer server, another had already beaten bonemass). That one was a rough day that I managed to survive....only to die the next day from falling off my roof while adjusting my chimney because adding a spice rack to my cauldron broke my smoke physics since I had to put said rack basically inside the chimney for it to work.

Reasonable and predictable mayhem, Sure you can run your boat through dangerous waters in an unknown area, at night, if you so choose. You might even make it.

I'm sailing along at night in my karve and stop to stomp a nest, and I didn't see the two greydwarves towers in the fog.

I ran up on the nest, and aggro everything, including the two towers which I was unaware of due to the dark. As I'm kiting the 15+ mob around, a troll comes along and joins in...

At this point, I'm realizing that I'm on a small black forest island and I'm probably going to die here. At that moment I spin the camera and watch the troll smash my boat, as I'm killing greydwarves by the dozen. I dispatch the troll and check for remains of the boat and yep.. Everything is in too deep of water to retrieve... I tried building higher to jump/dive deeper, nope. And since it's BF, no pigs to build a raft.

Tuco the Rat is still on that island...

Couple options

1. start swimming to closest safe house/base, just log out when your stamina is depleted, when you log back it'll be full (Edit: Start at dawn)
2. make a new character, join the existing world and ferry boat supplies to your old self.
3. just grab the supplies you need from another world.
4. Just DIe, you will respawn at your last bed. (if your last is where you are then destroy it first)

Haha, yea ive done 6 hour corpse runs in this game. Just adventuring and forget to drop a portal end up in bad place die 17 more times...

Ahh yes, I lost my first boat to the swamp biome. I didn't know about leeches at the time and three of them aggroed on me when I sailed too close. One of them was at least a one star and they got under the boat and destroyed it. I frantically tried to swim to shore and they ended up killing me. This game is awesome.

I had ventured far across the sea to kill a dragon goddess, but my ship had come to her mountain just as dawn was about to break. In that eerie predawn glow I decided it would be best to jump overboard to set up camp. I hurled myself into the cold sea and swam the last few feet to solid ground. And then my stomach began to growl and my limbs to weaken. It had been a long uneventful journey, and easy for a powerful and dangerous viking such as me to forget to eat my snacks. As I struggled mightily to find purchase in the sand beneath my feet I heard them... the giggling chortle of my foe. From the darkness a spear splashed into the water, and another of the little beasts dove in after me like a mad berzerker. I swung my axe smashing his green face. It was then heard a hateful buzzing from behind me...

Welcome to Valheim, isn't it amazing?

This game rocks it makes you think before you leap and is the best $20 I think I ever spent on a game and I am over 700 hours playing now.

I was on a mountain and got attacked by 5 Drakes, then two wolves decided to join in the fun, then I ran out of stamina, then...I died. Luckily, I had a portal set up (a lesson I learned the hard way, like you).

Me: "I have everything covered."
Valheim: "Challenge accepted."
