Tired Of Grinding Ore? Get this mod!
My brother and I started a new run to play the new update, but we wanted to spice the game up to make the early game that we've already played through more interesting. So we went and grabbed a bunch of neat mods to play with.
The mod you need to get to get rid of ore grinding is the Mineshaft mod https://valheim.thunderstore.io/package/GoldenJude/Mineshafts/1.0.6/
This mod adds a craft-able mine shaft entrance that places you underground in a rocky biome directly underlay-ed the map. Whichever biome you place it in, you will gather materials relative to the biome you are mining under. You break blocks of stone that turn into coal, stone, and the respective materials for their biome. Watch out though! Mobs from the respective biomes also have a chance to spawn when you break a rock, so you will have to fight a little bit.
In roughly 15 minutes of mining under the blackforest, I was able to FILL one chest with Tin and Copper. Opposed to spending an hour digging out a copper deposit, and scouring the land for tin deposits.
As a bonus, now you have a large underground area to build anything you want! AND you can connect your tunnels to make a high speed minshaft network!
(This mod currently works and functions as intended and has caused me no issues, refer to the moderators post below)

Theres no need for backups if people use mod managers, insted of mod the game out right. Hey there,
please remember that as of now modding is not officially supported. It's done at your own risk, there are no guarantees for future compatibility. Please keep backups of your save files before you start modding. If you need technical support, please always include a full list of active AND prior mods, since that can influence the game's behaviour with regard to bugs.
Have a good day!
This is completely not true. All a mod manager does is handle the configuration for you. The game is still being modded, you are just not manually doing the configuration anymore.

Mod managers tend to keep multiple instances, so the "Modded" instance is not the same as the "Vanilla". You can just swap to the fully unblemished Vanilla one if needed. R2ModManager does this.Theres no need for backups if people use mod managers, insted of mod the game out right.

However, it still is smart for people to know that modding can have risks. Valheim isn't very modding-friendly either; especially for Multiplayer. One of the things I'd love to see worked on.
