Yes it does. No idea what the patch notes are saying if they're saying different, but once my food buffs get to half, my max health and stamina definitely goes down, and if I eat more food at that point they definitely go up again.

I don't see anything about that in the patch notes. I do however have a mod that does this. Which update was this patch note in?

so when it says 5 min left of food dosent mean anything... well the stats dosent change 100% untill it drops to zero and you need to eat again... my hp or stam bar dosent go down untill the food reach zero

Correct

i haven't been far as i'm trying to play the game with friends but it still does from what i see on earlier food even if it does not reduce much as before

so if its still based on a % value it should still go down quite a bit with lox and snake's food

after testing it at 15min left with the honey i have 85 stamina, at 1sec left i have 55 stamina, it goes to 50 when the honey is no longer active, so it still reduces "the same way" as before all along the timer, it just seems to reduces exponentially as the timer goes down.
So the gauge can still be useful ^^
