Greifers and modders can completely destroy an entire game world in less than a second of joining. So, people dont host open worlds. There's a recent post from a guy who had his world hacked by a guy spam summoning bosses in places they shouldnt even be able to.

That sucks. I dont find this type of game nearly as engaging if there arent other players

There are tons of posts in the "Looking for Group" forum. Might be able to find a few lobbies to play in there. Up to you. But yeah, there are next to zero open lobbies.

Yeah you may have misunderstood the type of multi experience valheim provides. It's co op not mmo. Vanilla servers only have up to 10 players. You're not gonna see cities everywhere unless you and your buds build them.

Head to the subforum to find group, it's very easy and give it a shot.
