Mistwalker is kinda useless
Well, it's a great sword, but... it's function to dissolve the mist is pointless. It works only if equpped. And in the moment when you need to shoot Gjall and take the arbalest - you becoming blind instantly. So you forced to take wisplight, leaving meginjord behind.
Anti-mist effect should be on a piece of armor - like, helmet made of caparace, wisps and anglerfish. Some sort of a coal miner casque.

imagine if the mistbusting abilty was on a spear... and it works even after you threw it.
Sounds good. I think we're fine with the carapace spear for now, but maybe it could be the ashlands spear. We'll just have to wait and see if they make any other wisp-weapons in future.

I agree, MW mist removal is not useful. Its a powerful weapon, but its not a wisplight.
And I agree it should be on a hat or something. Tying it to a weapon reduces choices (well, it would if it were more useful) to pick other weapons that lack it. You always want the weapon selection to be more or less equally viable.
I have found that once you have mastered the ML, beaten the queen etc, you can manage without any light at all fairly well for marble hauling runs. A fire potion trivializes gjall, so even if you can't see it you can back track its shots and still hit them, because stupidly big target. Its not ideal, but if you need carry weight more than visibility... its good enough. You can also drop the torches around your work area. They are so cheap to make.

It's not meant to replace wisplight, the way I see it.
I mostly use it when mining, so I can get as much black marble or scrap out of a deposit as possible. Then walk the already familiar way back with mistwalker and megingjörd.
As for gjall, I prefer engaging them in a mist-free area, regardless of which item you use to manage the mist around you.

In my eyes mistwalker is just frostnir for those of us who prefer swords over hammers.
Removing mist is just a bonus.

mistwalker is fantastic currently. it just lacks durability due to lack of upgrades. but thats a common problem with all mistlands weapons.
