Worth coming back to?

Hello,

I started playing when it first came out and it was very addicting. I eventually got geared to take on the creatures of the plains and made a little base but I eventually quit playing. What exactly has been added to the game?

10:30 at night Mountain Standard time and there are 26,000 people playing the game over a year after it was released to early access.

I guess your idea of "dead" and my idea of "dead" are quite opposite.

The reason that people are still playing this game is caused by the general SUPER depressing situation of the entire game world. In our reality, there are simply no good games at the moment. Unfortunately, game developers, for the most part, are unusually stupid people. They don't have enough brains to create at least something more or less decent.Yes, what can I say, I myself, as it were, did not scold the creators of Valheim, and there is a lot to scold them for, I still sometimes go to play Valheim, well, just because I still can't find at least some, at least a little more or less decent game. THEY JUST DON'T EXIST!!!!When I first encountered Valheim, I saw a great future in this game, but a year after its release, I already understand that the creators of this game created it by chance, they turned out to be as stupid as other toy creators, now they have brought it to a complete dead end, turning it into a third-bit toy.In the first month of the appearance of this game, MILLIONS of people played it, and now thousands and this is a success :)?

It depends on how one likes to play these sorts of games. If your original intent was to kill all the things that needed to be killed, probably worth shelving the game for a while; admittedly a LONG while since the devs aren't fast with updates. If you like a more laid back approach, enjoy playing it with friends, just like to mess around or build, there's a lot more to do.

From a group-play perspective, there are hundreds of community servers you can join, many who create their own custom content and events for the game, do creative roleplay (if that's your bent), and of course the existence of mods helps a great deal. The better monsters and loot mod adds a little spice, etc.

I don't think the devs are stupid at all - this was a personal "what if" project that hit the gaming world at the perfect time. Lots of people at home, a pandemic forcing people to find other ways to entertain themselves and a severe lack of anything creative such as this on the market. At the time this ticked all the boxes. No one, particularly the devs, expected Valheim to take off like it initially did.

Okay this is pure depression and despair talking. That is your very personal reality tunnel you're describing, there's nothing 'our' about it.

Look for a blog, podcast or stream whose creators tastes match up with most of yours, they'll highlight new things to be excited about and old classics you missed every week. New games get published on Steam every *hour*.

yeah sure im playing a 20yo game all day because im depressed and in despair. what i played before that was a 13yo game. what i played before that was a 16yo game.

all are mmo's btw.

no "new" games last past the 100 hour mark. valheim was an exception, mostly because we gave it that.

i and many others predicted new worlds fate and was laughed at. now guess who's laughing.

still you. some of us are actually depressed and in despair because there are no "new" games worthy of mention. not seeing you make any difference, having moved from fortnite and minecraft to valheim. seriously lacking the judgement to tell the reality gaming is in, that is generally agreed upon among real gamers.

its like skyrim all over again.

and you be like. skyrim all over again wut you on about.

why when you never listen. again common knowledge, skyrim was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ "everyone" know that, but to tell you need to have something to compare it to.
what did you have? exactly.

Yeah, Plains are still the end of the game for now, definitely wait for the mountain update and see what that's about, maybe wait for Mistlands too depending how it goes.

Not worth right now. There are some new things, but I'd advice you to wait for Mistlands. Unless you feel like just playing again with a few new things. I hope waiting for so long is worth it, takes them quiet some time. Workshop would be great.

Hearth and Home changed up food stats and added a few need food ingredients. Food now is geared more towards either health OR stamina.

Abominations. Swamps answer to the black forests troll.

Root armor. Helmet gives poison resistance, chest piece gives pierce resistance(which i sear is awesome). Full set gives bonus to bow skill.

Tar pits and tar growth enemies in the plains.

A few new build pieces(dozen or so).

Not much else.

Mountain caves are coming up next and Mistlands is in active development.

By the time Mistlands comes out there should be plenty of new things to see. Or if you just want to play it anyway, jump on in. H&H didn't look flashy but it made enough changes to core gameplay that starting a new character is advised to get used to the changes.

Not really. Everything of consequence is the same, it just requires more stations and upgrades to make the same foods. Worth going in like freemode to see the new building pieces if you're into base building, but all the new stuff is end game so it doesn't really warrant a new play through.

Not much, some a couple of mobs, some new mats and building pieces but nothing really worth playing for again

My group and I stopped playing after we beat Yagluth with plans to return once the Mistlands has a boss and I suspect a fair number of others have done the same.

I'd recommend waiting until the Mistlands gets added, that way you won't have to restart a world again for the new content.
