Gee Golly I just love it
When a raid constantly comes in an kills all my boars. Ignoring me, every time.
Raids are terribly unfun and undo a lot of the work that we as players do, especially when they target your animals, instead of you. Hope this garbage mechanic gets removed in a future update.

Problem not solved, though. Raid trolls will go after your boars whether they are "inside" or not. Try it; build your barn, then spawn in a troll raid with console commands. build a barn, put boars in barn, close barn door, problem solved
edit: believe it or not this also works for chickens. amazing, i know
The thing is that that actually is the boars fault. Mobs aggro towards other mobs. The boars react to the troll just as the troll reacts to them, agressively. They actively aggrevate and distract the troll and move as closely towards it as possible. Wolves will even bite through walls to get at the troll, at least they have good chances in a group but it still isn't ideal.

Build Defenses. the log walls wont stop much, learn how to make earthen walls or build up a plateau to build on.
The more creative you get, the more fun it gets.

I do understand and agree to that being the reason. I'm simply pointing out that all these people saying that it doesn't happen aren't right about it.Problem not solved, though. I use the 'barn' for my boars, roofed with some ladders for letting the sun (not needed) :P
Results in the event mobs just hanging around near the 'barn', trolls I poke and kite for the event, trick is not to kill the trolls quickly, just poke 'em down to low HP and kite them until event ends, I do use dodge rolls liberally and it helps to get used to using rolls for later stages.

just wait until you get the higher ranked raids ... you'll be wondering why you were so worried about trolls ...

I have. My boars are in a barn and trolls don't go after them if I am within their perception range. If they can't see or hear the boars they won't go after them. That means that you have to keep the trolls far enough away from your barn that the boars won't alert.Problem not solved, though. I've handled many a troll raid without losing a single tame boar.

While I am outside my base trying to draw the trolls' attention from my boars by flinging arrows at them, they actively ignore me in favor of my bacon. I would love it if what you said was the case, but it's not. It USED to be that way, but ever since they reworked aggro on raids, it's not been.I have. I can totally understand if they'd go for the tames if they didn't see me around, and that's why I actively head outside my base, so they get clear line of sight. SOMETIMES, when I pick off some of the active ones and new ones spawn, SOMETIMES they go after me, if I happen to be closer. But once they take note of the juicy pork they can't even see, they're all "screw viking, me want other white meat."

Path. Follow path. Gate. Open gate. Through gate. Close gate. Last ferry 6:37. Run. Run. Run.
(Sorry, your phrasing just made me think of that quote)

Already in the works for a future update, as for the tames, try remote breeders, linked only with a portal if it is far away. (no more than 3 base structures to trigger a raid)

Why didn't you keep 2 boars safe, somewhere else?

Or give us the option to outfit our piggies.
Black metal Tuskcaps.
Iron Hooves.
Carapace Barding.
And mount freakin' lasers on their heads.

Yeah, thankfully a future patch will fix that. Besides mods, the only thing you can do in the meantime is build a base specifically for farming and animal husbandry, then portal to and from it as needed.
