Timer
I pray to Odin or Thor or whoever.... I need an oven timer. I get distracted easily and poof, home cooking like my mom - burnt to a crisp.

I like to take all that extra junk that clogs my storage chests to an obliterator for my extra coal.

If i'm cooking meat i won't dare attempt other chores. Even in my most seemingly steely eye'ed alert state there have been some sacrifices to the coal lords.
Watch your cooking meats people!
A hunk of boar meat is worth at least 40 wood. A hunk of serpent is worth at least 500.

Handy source of coal in a pinch, though. LOL
I have done this SO MANY times too.

'if it's not smoking..it's not cooking'

the fires "flare up" and make a distinct sound when something is done cooking... It's all part of the "universal rule" of Valheim, and that is to be aware of your surroundings at all times, which includes listening to your surroundings.
If you step away from your cooking food to perhaps look in a chest or something, always listen for the fire "flaring up".

how about a timer for ure lighting, when sun comes up the flames go off, sundown they come on , so don't burn through all ure resin, gunk, and grey eyes during the day.
