Are the new root helms bugged?
Made a full set of root armor and went into a swamp with wolf armor on except I wore the root helm. Found me a blob and let it pop its poison cloud. I was expecting no damage but I was poisoned and took damage.
I expected it to work like the wolf cloak just put it on and be immune.
So is it bugged or is it only meant to mitigate some of the poison damage?
If it's only mitigation it might be helpful to change the description to something other than resistant.

or you know, "immune to poison". I don't see many games using "proof" as a mechanic. "resistant" is the proper terminology when something is only partially protected... If it was 100% immune to poison it would say "poison proof"
being "immune" or "proof" are seperate conditions that share the same result.
Immunity is a biological status and fits best if aquired by potions and the like.
Proof is physical in nature and absolutely fits as equipment related.
In the end it's not that important if the right term is used. The main goal of descriptions on items is that the player understands what is happening.
In the case of the new armour, it would be better to write the exact percentage of the resistance instead of "slightly resistant, resitant or very resistant". The latter can be misread and or misinterpreted as OP shows.

You were already poisoned, resistance after the fact doesn't work, you are confusing resistance with a cure.

it does work exactly like the wolf cloak, as the wolf cloak reduces frost damage by 50% and reduces the timer for the frost effect by 50%. Freeze damage is not frost, but the fact that frost resistance makes you immune to it is simply an added benefit of the buff

It only gives resistance and its effect is weaker than that of the mead. Also they don't stack.

As others have said, works fine. Gives 50% reduction and halves the time you're poisoned. I used in combination with poison potions and a full set of root armor with the big boss. Beat him easily with the full set.

It speeds up the poison countdown. You take minimal damage from poison while wearing the root helm. The countdown from 5-0 lasts maybe 2 seconds. Before it was 5 or more. I am able to go in swamps now without using a poison resist potion.
Its only an issue if you take lots of damage from something else at the same time.

It only gives you resistance to poison, reducing poison damage by about half.
Also, the wolf cloak gives you resistance to frost, and you still take damage from frost attacks. you're only immune to the Cold debuff at night unless you get Wet.
As an extra bit of trivia, your Armor reduces nearly all types of damage you take, including "elemental" types like Poison.
