Most annoying resource in game ( vanilla ). So far...
STONES...
yes there is like a lot of stones around... but it is by far most annoying resourse... pickaxing is slow... and all building pieces that require it cost a lot of stone, and its not so fun to gather it if you trying to build castles whihout creative mode... and mining big stones is pain in ### becouse of how they shatter...
To fix this, I would love to see some kind of quarry in mountain biomes or etc plains where you could place some sort of workstation that til extract stone over time for you... or only with you... but yield would be faster and bigger...

Getting stones is probably annoying in the beginning but it gets easier later on.
I had probably 1,5k stones laying on the ground after i beat yagluth, because he destroyed all the stone pillars at his spawn xD

Build a portal back to your main base before you start mining. You can drop off the stone and repair your pick. I built a huge (50 meter x 50 meter) base with an earthen berm and dry moat in the meadows and a 25 meter x 25 meter base with earthen berm in the plains just with stones that I gathered while mining and from killing graydwarves.
I still have 3 carts full of stone and a black metal chest full of stone that I haven't used yet.

You get plenty of stones from mining copper and silver. Just save them.

You get like 500 of stone for each 100 silver pieces .... Stone its annoying in that part of the game ...

i never, ever got that many stones from silver veins... is your map on steroids?

Nope , just i mine properly the vein , cleaning sides and start mining from underground , remember that its a huge YYou get like 500 of stone for each 100 silver pieces .... Stone its annoying in that part of the game ...

500 might be an exaggeration but yeah you get a lot. Plus you can teleport it all back home.

Go to plains, find one of the tall spires. Take out the bottom layer so it no longer touches the ground. It will then fall apart and you can collect all the stone from it.

if stone mining is a bit boring for you, you can always use a tower shield and a handy stone golem to save some of the durability on you pick. having used well over 20k stone in my world that i have mined entirely solo, its really not that hard of a resource to get. i just wish there were more stone shapes for building with

Completely digging it out, and then hitting it a few times and..... blam, the entire thing collapses, it does something to me, a good thing, others might call it weird.

I think those green gunk bags on the rare swamp trees are the worst when you actually want some...Gotta agree. Copper is the most MEEEHH cause you need so much but gunk. thats an actual trial.
Or the chains. Never seem to have enough chains unless you get lucky and a bunch of ghosts spawn in the swamps
