Cloudberries last 15 minutes so grab 2 of them. You only need one to start the run and you can eat (or toss) the 2nd one right before you get in range of your corpse. Sneak up, corpse grab with the take all button, your inventory is all ready open so equip the megingjord, close your inventory and sprint far enough away that you can equip every thing.

I've had to do that several times. On the occasions that I have to equip an old bow and some wooden arrows to handle the deathsquitos I toss the wooden arrows right before I grab my corpse then all I have to do is toss the least useful stack of stuff on my corpse when I open it and equip the megingjord and sprint away.

I know you play no portals sometimes but you still only need to have a single extra cloud berry in inventory.

I mean, as I'm sure you're aware you were behind at least 2 full biomes worth of food and gear in progression. With upgraded silver gear and proper mountain food I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have had any problems at all.

I usually overprepare so I don't run into issues like this very often but I noticed that they can really hurt a lot if your Armor is low when I was transporting black metal in fenris armor.

They're not much of a threat on their own (if you have decent enough armor and food)... but they can become a trouble when they pair with berserker or lox... cause if you miss the first hit, then you don't really know when it hist again. Sure, the pattern is simple and if its alone you can counter it very easily, but when you're busy running around berserker or lox, it can become hard to also avoid this little buggers.

That's why, ALWAYS clear the area off of them before you go into major battle with big guys.

They have the element of surprise on their side but are extremely squishy. :)

Last night I got dived bombed by a pair of them, one in one side, and one in the other, with a fuling spear in the back at pretty much the exact same time! Wearing bronze/troll, and eating black forest food, I didn't stand a chance.

Incredibly easy to deal with. They do hurt, but honestly they shouldn't take more than 1/5th of your health if you're not hit completely unaware by accident in that area when it's not time for you to be in the plains yet.

Eat decent food and have decent armor. Then they are not a threat even if they suicide right into your rear.

But that's the case with this entire game. So many people aren't prepared when they go anywhere I've noticed. So they think it's difficult. But when you are prepared with decent food (which is very easy to get and make) and have decent armor (also not hard to get) you're totally fine.

The root chest piece really helps with those, but don't catch on fire.

They die if you sneeze at them.
