I play mostly solo cuz this game is good to play with real friends and bad for playing with randons but sadly I don't have that friend.

The majority of players play solo which is not uncommon for PvE survival games as most of them are not tuned for MP play and most players interested in the genre want a challenge when playing PvE so they play solo.

Of course if challenging gameplay isn't a high priority, MP co-op would be a much better experience. Large scale server play is horrible so don't go near that.

Solo probably 2400 of 2600 hours I've played. Running with a group or others can be very fun or really annoying. And there is no easy way to keeping track of where folks are so if they or you squirrel off, it's a pain. The other issue is that there tends to be more lag with groups.

when i first got this game ,it was my grandson that got me playing , he wanted someone to play with so i got the game . he stopped playing over a tear ago so i go solo ,I have almost 2300 hours in this , Having fun playing all my myself...

I have a community server but am understanding and facilitating those who have alternative playstyles. This is 2023 after all. Make Valheim your way is my motto. Just don't cheat, mod, hex/hack or harm the bees. We usually do the bosses as a community though and have welcoming community hub.

Solo.

I think this is a great game for MP, but the way progress through the game is handled your group (at least to me) really needs to be able to play together to fully enjoy things.

Which means having the ability to all log on at the same time and play for a bit.

Otherwise you really just have a bunch of solo players in the same world.

I have only been playing the game for a few weeks, so it's my first playthrough. Playing only solo, local game.
I don't really like playing with other people the first time I experience a game if I don't have to. To often they try to ruin my fun by being all in a hurry to 'finish'. I prefer to enjoy the journey when a game is new-to-me.

I have a server that my Wife and Son play with me on, but I play Solo map with a different character when we can't all play together. I also run creative maps just for building and testing game mechanics. I have over 2,000 in-game hours according to Steam.

100% that's why I'd be nervous about playing with a group. Some guy whose maxed out just blasting through everything.

im a "lone wolf" solo player in valheim
lots of hours played and still going on
dont need much stuff but i enjoy overcollecting things for deco purpose

secondary im up to some "creative" gameplay where i love to build things

im not using any mods

I play solo, though I did dabble in it with a couple buddies long time ago. This game takes a lot of time and it can be hard to coordinate with other people so you all have large amounts of time off together to play.

Unfortunately, im playing solo too. Still waiting my friend to buy this game.

mainly duo for fights but solo in terms of resource collection. unless it's a karken. Then mark it with a map and bring friends again (because time sensitivity)
