You don't necessarily have to kill all the mobs during a raid, you just have to remain in the circle and avoid getting hit or lead the mobs around within the circle until the raid is over.

IF you can kill the mobs, then by all means do so, but If you can't, then just keep moving until the 2 minutes is up, then lead the baddies away, or run away and go find a place to pass time, and (hopefully) give the mobs a chance to clear out.

the beginning of the game is grindy and difficult as ♥♥♥♥, low dps with bows.
with iron/darkmetal equip/weapons you OWN Valheim and nothing can kill ya(with full HP food)

but the area has to updating. ie, you have to be close by. If you go to the other side of the map and come back an hour later the event will still be going since the area wasn't being updated.

Dig a moat around your base that you can jump back and forth to. Problem solved.

Unless of course caught out exploring of course. In that case, find a high vantage point and wait it out.

If you are having trouble making arrows, I would advise you to make a stack of wood arrows with which to shoot every boar and bird you come across, The birds will not take flight as soon as seeing you when it is stormy out, so roaming around the meadows area during storms might help get more feathers.

I often over-prepare, which makes my progress much slower. I'm also a hoarder and I grab everything I can all the time. I have one chest full of feathers, another with a row of feathers and a row of boar hides, and another chest with a row of flint arrows and the other row with poison/iron/wood. I always keep a stack of fire arrows in my inventory, using them only for trolls, and usually 2 stacks of flint (or one flint, one wood). Try to only use the lowest tier arrows when not hunting anything powerful.

Thanx! But it's not the fact I can't get feathers regularly. It's just that a raid seems to always happen when I'm low. I usually carry around 100 fire arrows minimum. The first raid I mentioned I just took out 2 trolls that camp near my base and needed to get rid of them. The troll one was just after I had finished searching crypts in the swamp for iron and I didn't have time to make more. I use arrows to sort of cheat the game in swamp crypts by digging out one side of the mud at openings so mobs can't reach me, but I can shoot them.
