i'm getting attacked by 2 wolves, what do my 4 wolves do..? try and attack the newly arrived drake instead..
i would have been better of without them, probably alive

So glad I never invested in taming other than purely for food.. the AI sounds like it is completely incompetent when it comes to actually being productive outside of that aspect. Not to mention I've never needed AI companions.. I mean I just kill everything myself so easy what's the point.. just more stuff to worry about.

I for one am glad wolves are kind of lame. If they were useful I would feel more compelled to keep them with me and keep them alive. I have enough to do keeping up with my partner and keeping myself alive.
Well thats on you. Even when they where actually usefull you are an independent person who can make youre own desicions :).

I wonder if there is a mod for this. I used a mod that makes them stronger. Didn't know they don't attack other wolves.

i always thought they were eating deer and boar on the way to heal them selves but apparently they can only heal once a day so it makes sense to take em home to heal for a day gone or they're excessively disposable and you're breeding them to die, for now

I think they heal when they eat but they only eat when they are hungry and only if you stop to give them the chance on their kills, so what every 10 mins or so of game time? Not sure.
If you can get 2 star wolves its better but they never really work as travelling companions imo. What they are is an awesome base defense for a Black Forrest or Meadows base. With enough numbers they can deal with trolls and gigglers no problem, you do have to deal with the howls of the cubs and the strain having them around puts on your system though.

nah mine ate but didn't heal just kept procing 0's after they ate, yeah mine just wonder around the house.
Correction, just had the cold wind event and now all my ornamental wolves died by chasing their tails while getting hammered by drakes :D

Yeah they do, now that you mention it. We've just started the wolf packs up again in the last week or so, I don't remember them doing that a few months ago.

Tame boars don't attack wild boars, tame wolves don't attack wild wolves, tame lox don't attack wild lox. That's a feature that lets you pen a wild animal with your tame one and they won't attack each other while you tame the 2nd animal.
Tame animals won't attack other tame animals so you can pen all types of tame animals together.

Yeah it’s a lazy feature around what, building a separate pen till the second one is tame and then moving it. Boars i can understand, boars are just boars, the only tameness with them is that they decide not to bite you cause you feed em, lox's don't exist, so 'we' can say what ever we want about em.
Wolves are pack animals and they will defend their territory and their pack, from other wolf packs. A wolf not attacking another wolf makes absolutely no sense what so ever and no one would think 'wolves shouldn't defend me from other wolves'
It's just an 'oh ♥♥♥♥' moment.
regarding taming maybe put a 'tamed wolf will not attack another being tamed wolf' or what ever, i choose a wolf defending me over a wolf licking it's balls as i get mauled to death :D
I'd say.. It wasn't put in as a game mechanic but as an easy way out and i think valheim should be beyond that now.
i am so down with special taming pens for wolves, have them fight if 2 are in a pen and one tames.. atm they're a novelty, give me a good reason to breed em, have em defend me in the mountain, make it a fan fare, they're made for the mountain and they fail at it. :/

Same as Lox, they don't attack wild ones either.

For some reason, tamed wolves will never attack wild wolves... at all. It's not just a priority issue; they're hard-coded this way. And they're not very effective at all against flying mobs.

Well that's just stupidity lol wolves should prioritise wolf vs wolf
been breeding them in the mountains for an extra edge, garbage waste of time
