A tip for mining Copper that I use and have had almost no problems with mobs. At least it did as of Nov 2021 when I last played the game. The devs might have just set the spwn rate insanly high.

For the Copper the first thing you do is dig down as far as you can just next to the deposit and then work your way all the way around the deposit. As long as the walls are sheer the mobs won't just drop into the trench and attack you. You can also put gates to secure the area your working in and when you start diggin into the copper you can drop a camp fire and keep your rested buff thanks to the Copper deposit above you counting as shelter.

Unless it was changed recently just digging in dirt doesn't attract mobs, its only when you start hitting rocks or trees that things come running. If you have a good trench the mobs can't get at you or you at least have them coming at you from one direction.

Also works for Silver.

I got the same "frustration" lately.
They do not only come when you make sounds....
A stroll trough the forrest brings me stacks of eyes and resin.....

It seems they are there after every 10 steps or so....
They are the biggest frsutration I have atm: no matter what I do or don't they keep ganging up and disrupt everything....
(I can handle them, no problem at this point, but it is becomming extremely annoying and completely useless to "send" gang after gang after gang...


For me there is almost no difference between night and day..the only difference is that in the night the gangs are escorted by shamans and brutes....

yeah this is kinda where im at but they ramp up insanely when i go near ore until they overwhelm and kill me, doesnt matter if i run from the area or not they just keep spawning endlessly until i die

Usually it happens during the night. Try to mine during the day and at first look around if there is not the dwarf nest (spawning point of dwarves) or stone ruins (around it they are also large group). And dwarves don't like the fire - try to place some around the deposite.

Yeah thats the thing, there's nothing around me, but a few trees, no nests, ruins, nothing, the only difference between night and day is like 1 or 2 extra dwarfs in the insane mobs, could playing on an older world be messing with updates and stuff?

These are the first mobs you are experiencing that check out noises, others do it too when in range, and it is much worse at night.

so do spawn effects stack? like being near ore, being in a forrest, being in there after beating Eikthyr mean that the spawns are turbo charged?
