It has surtlings, chromatic metal , meteorites, and the ashlands fish.

I think that was the case with my resin. There already was a pile of coal and cores nearby so when it went to drop the 4 loots from the Karve one probably got pushed under the map.

Gear cannot get destroyed. Despawning is most likely what happened, as already suggested.

I guess the items could have also clipped through a wall or floor (if any was left standing). Happens sometimes. Unlikely with multiple items, though, in my experience.

Well the fight did go on for abit, didn't know gear like weapons and armour could despawn.

Things lying around on the ground despawns after some time, when there are no workbench or campfire (or possibly other constructs) nearby. Maybe that happened?

There are no other fleshed out biomes, What were you expecting to happen? You get his trophy, forsaken power and a place holder special item that seems like an accomplishment to me
