In my experience they seem to acclimate faster if you are in the area. Build a house relatively near by to sleep and craft in.

that passes relatively fast.

You want to find a two star preferably and then yea its a meat farm. Each two star gives 4 meat and some leather.

Mate the two star with any other tamed pig until you get another two star, kill all non two stars, let the herd grow to 20ish and then boom, never have to hunt again.

havent tried it yet but i heard if its tamed u can pet it

I hadn't seen anything on the fire, that's weird that would be required lol. Removing fire now.

Do you think I can just remove the torch on the right side touching the pen? Or do I need to remove all of the torches, and the fire inside the house? (There is a campfire in the house)

ye, you need to leave it alone so that it stop being frightened. Once it calms down, it will eat the food and become acclimating, which eventually lead to it becoming tame. Don't stress over food - as long as the area is in workbench area, it will never despawn.

Yeah I had left for a few ingame days to travel and I came back and nothing had happened. Just removed the torch I had there, and he's acclimating. I think the fire is just scaring him lol, so he wouldn't eat. Tyvm for your response!

Boars tamed relatively easy for me. Made a quick pen maybe 4x6, let two chase me in there threw like 40 mushrooms in there and checked back a bit later and it was tamed. Boars give you a leather farm, as they seem to have a greatly reduced chance to drop meat when tamed. (at least for me)

For tames to mate there must be enough room for the animals and the animals must be fed. As far as I can tell they do not starve. The above mentioned pen enabled my boars to grow to 5, sometimes 6 pigs. To test why they were capped I expanded the pen (rough estimate) by about 4x and threw some food it. By the next in game day there was 11. (the boars had stayed at 5/6 pigs for days of real time, with my friends leaving them alone)

I have not yet noticed any sort of a taming bar, but on my wolves they had a percentage in numbers that I had to get really close to see.

From what ive tried Boars will not eat; Honey/glow mushrooms. Will eat; Carrots, turnips, raspberries, blueberries, and redcaps

yeah the runestones talking about taming boars mention they are terrified of fire lol

ah you can feed it berries, I thought the thing said roots so I've been waiting till I had some root veg to feed them

Can they follow you? One got out of the pen... :)
