The whole server thing doesnt make any sense

You have an option called 'Start Server' which makes it so that only people on your friends list can join you and you can choose whether or not to set a password.
And theres another option called 'Community Server' which makes it so that your server appears to anyone in the world but only friends can join it because it has to have a password on it.
So... what on earth is the point of the 'Community Server' option if it does the exact same thing that 'Start Server' does where also only friends can join on that? What on earth is the point of showing your server to random people in the world if they arent able to join it anyway? The 'Community Server' option is completely redundant and might as well just be removed and just simply have the 'Start Server' option instead. Whats the point in having 2 different options if they both do exactly the same thing?...

You cant leave the password empty which i said in my post... which is exactly why the 2nd option is pointless which i said in my post... If you could leave password empty; then it would make sense and there would be a point in the 2nd option.

Yeah i know that they dont want people to join servers publicly because of cheating, so then why like i said in my post; do they have the 'community server' option if the public arent able to join it anyway?

For example, when I click 'start server', I'm actually hosting the game off my PC. Other players can only connect to me while I'm playing, and the server session ends the moment I quit the game.

For the community server that I run, I'm renting a shard from a server provider that hosts the game for me. Players can connect to my server at any time as long as the server is online.
Ah i see, so you're basically choosing whether or not you want people to be able to join your server when you aren't playing

This has nothing to do with the option in the menu. If you host a server and select the community server, it is visible on the list and still hosted locally.
