Current endgame difficulty
Mistlands was exciting and challenging before this recent update. I'm echoing what everyone else on the valheim discord is saying - changing the seekers into circlers is really disappointing. No threat means no accomplishment and it reduces the overall variety in the game. By this point a player should have had enough of that silliness from greydwarves (and even the gobbos).
The overall dumbing down of difficulty, recipes (no reason to go back for the rancid trophy), almost makes this long awaited patch feel pointless. Not to mention de-incentivizing the use of different rug materials. This has been my favorite game and it's impressive how fast it turned into something I have trouble finding reason to play.
Maybe the next patch should update parrying and attacking so that it happens automatically and we don't have to learn proper combat mechanics or think about tactics. And also remove all the confusing build pieces so we aren't overwhelmed with possibilities - just have a square shape and a rectangle shape that we can sleep inside of. Enemies should also have audio lines encouraging us so that don't get discouraged.

Guys, guys, now I understand everyone has it's own view on the mistlands update, but instead of arguing, why don't we just ask for a difficulty setting?

Mistlands before the update wasn't a challenge, it was tedious.

FFS if its to easy for you just go play something else or i dunno challenge urself with going everywhere with bare fists....not all of us are ♥♥♥♥♥ nolifers ,wchich train DS rolling all days.
I play this pretty casually and I managed to slowly learn how to deal with mistlands enemies. That's what games were originally for. Learning how to play them. xD If trying even a little makes you a no lifer. Maybe this game isn't for you?
I expected a very difficult experience from what i heard, but after realizing that i can't wander around with copious amounts of deer and boar meat made into deer stew and sausages like i still did in the plains but actually had to go for something better this time as everything with at least 1 star broke my shield in one go, everything could be parried easily. The only thing i thought was a bit annoying was the Gjall, but i soon got used to those as well. The mist was the main offender as it blocked my sight of the terrain and the wisp made it so i couldn't equip the belt but that is hardly difficult, just annoying. I'd rate the difficulty at about a 5/10, had more problems with the swamp in my first playthrough. No idea why it was nerfed this badly.

Configuration management will - I hope - be coming perhaps sooner than I thought. The question I would have is whether folks would want something very granular so that each object is configurable or something more macro. Even if very granular, there could be editors from mod authors to convert granular to macro. Let each player/admin customize what they wish and then stand back as Valheim becomes one of the greatest selling media entertainment in history. And then, like WoW, a film adaptation?

This is the proper approach.
While I was able to function in the mistlands after learning the biome, it became a really long and drawn out pain in the rear. It really did need some balance tweeks and the patch notes I just read are mostly good things.
I do agree that the seekers should not be circling, must agree with OP there.

gutted with the nerfs,,,,mistlands was scary but fun, had a horror movie vibe.....now its boring and too easy...waited all this time for the new biome and a week or so later and its ♥♥♥♥...also another enemy tht circles you really ? who came up with tht idea.... yaaaawn... the gjall was hard if u got to close yet easy if u seen it early as you could just shoot it down...now we dont see them and if i do its no contest with there 1 fireball....perhaps they should start to circle us too....you know, for something different......

+1 Difficulty settings (including harder and a hardcore option along with easy or normal)
+1 Undo the nerf - seekers didn't get "tweaked" they got lobotomized

Please don't say these things, it just might happen! The reason the whole Mistlands got nerfed is because people complained it was too hard. Its a different Biome sure, but the difficulty scale was perfect. Now I feel its too easy even with ONLY tier 2 mage gear. What happens when I am able to upgrade to Tier 4? Mistlands will be a complete joke at that point. Even once you get the feather cape Mistlands becomes easy mode.

It seems more and more that many players don't want a survival game they instead want a casual builder with some walking and resource gathering. And friendly animals they can tame as pets.
Rather like an Animal Crossing in Viking clothing.

@gerald2 You realize the OP could use the same argument towards you; just go play something easier that is not so challenging for you.
See how that works?

This is why the game needs world creation option like terraria, so everyone can be happy.
