Is there a H&H friendly mod that removes the portal restrictions yet?

It's getting really tedious to transfer metals with my friend on our new world. I get why the restriction is there, but it's honestly just kind of killing the fun of the game for me and my friend. If we could get a mod to remove the restrictions that would be great.

Problem is, I don't know how much Hearth and Home changed modding. I don't know if a lot of modding guides are outdated or not.

And I do know about the method where you store metals in a chest on a separate world to speed up the transfer process. Both methods are tedious and I'd really rather not do them.

I'd be surprised if the usual portal mods didn't still work tbh. It's not like minecraft where the entire structure of the saves and code kept changing with new versions, if the parts a Valheim mod interacts with haven't changed it should be fine.

There's a few simple mods that only need to exist on the server. Serverside Simulations, Torches Eternal, Loot Multiplier and Instant Monster Drop.

Bizarre. Hard to imagine why portals and chests would interact in any way, plus neither of those things changed noticably in H&H. O.o

And this is why mods can publish new stuff so fast. Imagine if IG pushed an update adding bugs like that.

I have just downloaded one mod that supposedly adds unrestricted portals cause it was part of my 2 mod loadorder before as well. Sadly does not seem to work as intended cause now I cant open chests with stuff in it lol

Had to uninstall it for quite obvious reasons lmao

I have the proper portals mod installed. Works perfectly fine after H&H.

Try one of the existing portal mods. Only takes a couple minutes to install one and find out if it works.

There are 2 that come to mind, and still work just fine with H&H. I use both (but obviously only turn 1 of them on, and keep other disabled - see below details)

1. Unrestricted Portals - got mine off nexusmods and been some months since last update but works flawlessly for me still with H&H.
*this mod does just what it is named, there are 2 versions, one more complicated that lets you set all sorts of config options for what can and can't be transported and one far easier that is just default anything can go through portal - that is what I use

2. Valheim Plus - also on nexus, this is a huge, comprehensive mod that lets you config just about everything that is a variable setting in game (carry weight, portals, carts, boats, inventory size, etc)

This would be overkill if all you wanted was a teleport enable of ores on/off like above. I do use this but leave the portal option to default disabled since I use #1 above. Not sure why but just prefer using the old mod I've had long time.

But it is possible to get rid of #1 if you enable config for portals on this one.

Would it work if I installed the mod and hosted a server with it? I'm not really sure how modding works when you're hosting servers

Just about all mods (except Valheim Plus) are client side mods. Think of them as cheats or hacks if you must. Anyone can join your server with any mod installed on their client, and it will be fine.

Of course, there can be some wonky behavior if someone has a mod that allows them to have stacks of 1000 wood in a box....but for the most part, it's fine. They're client side.

Now, you can mod the server itself, at which point things get a tad bit more complicated and will require everyone to have exactly the same sets of mods installed on their client as well as the same versions of those mods. It can be a pain in the rear sometimes.
