Playing the game

So my brother bought himself and me a copy of the game,so we could play together and I, after hundreds of deaths defeated the Eikthyr. Reminder I have his world on my pc and was wondering if my killing of Eikthyr is also on his world if he plays the game. We didnt play together so far because we only got it yesterday but I would feel bad if it were that way.

There's also the deaths to dwarfs, trees, falls, smoke and drowning while you work out the basics.

You can also re-summon bosses with another round of goodies on their altar.

So as long as I play on my PC alone with no other players or him and do stuff it is basically offline and doesnt do stuff to his server. How would we play together then?

It sounds like you two are on separate PCs but if not, and you're playing on the same PC, then you can't join each other.

GunsForBucks is right, whatever each of you do on your own world doesn't affect the other, you can only really affect his game world if you both end up playing on the same PC, account, and world or if he runs a server and you join his world.

And that's how can you play together. You can take your character, or make a new one that you'll use only to play in his world, and join him on his world. If you want to join his world then make sure he starts a server when he starts his game and is in your friend list on Steam. You can filter games by friends, see his game, and join. I'd suggest you use a password for the game so others don't jump in if they happen to find the game (which they shouldn't if you aren't making it a community game).

Well I summoned Eikthyr really earlier in the game, Torch and Club kinda early

The game tells you that's what they're for if you read all the things... :steamhappy:

I always end up fighting Eikthyr with a club, and you don't need any armour for Eikthyr. You can defeat it when you're at the "club and torch" stage. I feel like your hundreds of attempts was an exaggeration. I'm sure you died a few times, but I bet you figured it out after just a few and then kicked Eikthyr's butt.

If he is playing in your world then world progress carries for both.

Warning if you both play on the same PC then he should create his own windows log in to log into steam or cloud data may get corrupted. Probably better to turn off cloud saves if you are going to do that even creating individual windows accounts.

If you are on individual machines it depends on the world seed you are playing on when together. Each world has its own progression that is separate from the character progression. Boss battles are part of the world progression.

Its like playing singleplayer in minecraft, but having the option to open for lan.
Its your world, you can play it singleplayer or host it. He needs to start hes own world if he wants to play alone, toons are not tired to a world nor is the othe way around.
