A Way to try Valheim before I buy?
I don't play many games on my PC, sometimes WOW which runs decently at mid levels. My pc is old and used to walk to school in the snow both ways. I guess I can refund if it wont run but isnt there an easier way? Also will Gloomhaven run on GTX 450, 8gb i7 @ 2600 3.4ghz?

again , its a 2 gb video card, and it draws it power from the rail. Pretty sure 2gb on GPU is my bottleneck

Yeah I got a nice new i7 box for free, and i figured I'd just throw a decent video card and some ram in and I'd be good to go. Sadly it is a SFF box with a 190watt power supply. I think I get like 4.9 x 3.7 inches of tolerance for video card, so the best I could find that fits is a GT730 2gb gddr6 SFF card.
Game still runs like trash on those specs, sadly.-window-mode exclusive -screen-fullscreen put that in your launch settings
Sure, couple things, sounds simple enough. Pulling hair out already.

Yes, there is a way. If you buy a game on Steam you can get a refund within the first 2 hours of purchase.
Maybe someone else will actually link to the refund policy. But the short answer is "yes"
""Also will Gloomhaven run on GTX 450, 8gb i7 @ 2600 3.4ghz?"
Probably not well.

Ive got a 2070 and an i7 and the game runs like crap. You have to do a couple things in the files and property settings. I can show you if you want. Just let me know!

Sometimes upgrading to a new everything is out of the budget but replacing a couple parts may be doable. I tossed a few video cards in mine till I got the $$ for a good machine.

Yea Geez, I hear ya on that, but $250-400 for like a GTX 960, seems like I might as well buy a new pc at that point, but what a terrible time to be buying tech. https://www.pcgamer.com/valheim-increase-fps-performance/ then go on that website and copy those settings that they tell you. I went from mid 40s to around 100 sometimes 120. The game doesn't force full screen, it just stays in windowed boarder less. So setting these forces full screen,Yeah I got a nice new i7 box for free, and i figured I'd just throw a decent video card and some ram in and I'd be good to go. I wouldnt even bother trying. The RTX 30 series are notorious for being faulty at this point, but even so Valheim is infamous for overheating and drawing a lot of resources due to poor optimization. Any problems you may have with your PC, if you value it, may become exacerbated with continued running of your rig, especially if its old.
