I wouldn't expect a major performance uplift from the game. While the game can certainly use some work optimizing it.. It already runs fairly well considering all that is going on. The biggest upgrade they can do imo at this point is make it so that it uses more available resources.

Terrain modification impact was fixed a bit, but if your performance was bad without it, then no. Nothing changed, basically.
