Performance GTX1060 3gb
Hello, i have a question about performance, is it playable at least for 60 fps stable for most time ? since i was able to look on youtube and there is a year and half old video so if they somehow optimized the game or is it the performance ? Thanks

If you start building on a bigger scale there is no card that can maintain stable 60 fps.

I'm playing on a GTX670 with I3570. Was thinking of upgrading to a potato, but Valheim runs fine on it.

1070 here
The Ti cards will have an edge over base cards.
I keep foliage off
Motion blur off
Depth of field off
Bloom off
View distance max
Holds a steady 60 at 1080
With foliage on it would drop a lot.. but its fairly solid with foliage off.
Game still looks great, check my screenshots.
A 1060 base card will probably not perform as well as this though.
Personally I think I wouldn't lower my settings anymore. I normally turn stuff like motion blur off anyway and no foliage makes it easier to forage for stuff.. So in your case I would probably lower screen res from 1080 and you should be fine.

I can confirm that increasing the max vram usage from 512 to something that matches your GPU does increase performance a LOT. It needs modding though.

Usually optimization is the last step, after you're sure that everything you are optimizing will be in the final application. So don't look for it until Valheim is feature-complete.
Some optimizations are just standard, and programmers use them all the time as they write. What we are talking about here is optimizations that are peculiar to the application, and you can't be sure what those are until all of the peculiarities of the application are nailed-down. With peculiar nails.
Valheim EA may include debugging code and that is a good thing, but not for speed. The good news is that it can be turned on and off with a compiler switch. Which we don't have. Whether it is turned on or not in a given update may depend on whether they are in pursuit of a rare bug. (IDK, but that doesn't stop me from guessing.)
Some things are down to the speed of Unity.

You'll probably get 60 fps most of the time, but large builds can tank performance.

Played it on a 1060 6gb (new computer now) and everything was fine until building a huge village with lots of structure and lights, but that's a thing with stronger cards as well.

It is still not optimised well IMO but you should be fine most of the time depending on your settings in game and I saw a few good yt videos for performance that helped me a lot

i use 1050 ti exclusively all good! just note that auto game save will cause a slight lag every so often when game warns you a few seconds earlier

You will encounter stutters, as the game is not terribly optimised. And then there's the one-two second complete stop when the game does a world save.
Other than that, your card should run the game fine. My wife's 1050Ti runs the game perfectly well.

I play on a 1060 6 GB and can maintain 60 fps most of the time (chugs down into the low 50s/high 40s in dense open areas, low 40s sometimes when in our well-lit base with a bunch of other people).
The graphics engine is currently throttled to use only 512 MB, so only having 3 GB of vram won't be a problem for you. The main issue will be with texture and object management regularly swapping things in and out, slowing down and heating up the graphics card (having my GPU fan throttling up to full speed within seconds of entering game is the only problem I've ever really experienced in regards to graphics).
If you're willing to take the risk with modding [beware that this game is still Early Access - technically a beta - and that any and all future updates may break mods which may in turn break the game until/if said mod(s) are likewise updated] then there are some mods that will allow you to tweak graphics functions as well as adjust/increase the amount of vram utilized and they have been known to do a good job of increasing frame rate. Ask around and somebody will point one out for you.
