Mods-the hope of the game? A few words of comment on Iron Gate's stance on mods.

Hello, I wanted to refer to yesterday's statement of the studio regarding mods. I honestly don't understand why the studio still hasn't released a program and doesn't support modders. In my opinion, the players, the game and the creators themselves would only benefit from creating this beautiful game together. Ever since I played Valheim, that is, since the game came out, I saw a huge potential in it, and above all, a chance to become a cult classic. The problem is that the game has developed very slowly since it came out. Here I would like to appeal to Iron Gates Studio, gentlemen and ladies who work there, let us help you. You probably forget that the gaming community is not only huge, but above all, it's very close to each other and we can really do a lot to be able to play a great game or even help and improve it. We are one big family of gamers and creators, so I think the game itself would go faster with development if we joined forces. My point is that we modders could send you what we did, better and worse ideas, you would choose them, change or improve them and throw them into the game as a full-fledged update or even an add-on. There are already a lot of quite well-conceived mods on the internet, but I noticed that unfortunately, due to the lack of support for us modders, many of us fall out of updating these mods due to the hard work and lack of support. However, I understand that you as a studio may be afraid of something like this, because "they can sue us later for not paying them or they will demand money for it" - that's what you're probably thinking, although maybe I'm thinking wrong. I appeal to the creators of the game not to be afraid of us, because every modder dreams of helping the creator of his favorite game and seeing that his effort is visible to all players. time on the game we are all making together I would like others to comment on this but I believe this is the case among us gamers. Thanks for everything Iron Gates because you have given us something great after all and I hope it will happen soon iconic.

As to not releasing tools, it's a Unity game so nobody needs them. Modding Unity projects is a solved problem.

I'd say it has more to do with the direction the devs want to take the vanilla game in and the fact that the game isn't finished yet, rather than them not wanting to support mods.

There are some really good mods out there, but I personally don't play with mods these days due to them being broken when there are major updates, the difference in quality between mods, or conflicts/dependencies between different mods.
