If you're using mods, Creature Level and Loot Control needs to be updated...our server had the same issue until I grabbed the new version.

But do you get to keep your saves after that?

Similar posts blame outdated mods.
You have to update your used mods or deactivate/deinstall them until the mod author offers an update.

ive done the same with one attempt at installing on separate drives with no success.

i had the same problem. i uninstalled valheim and delete all manually. valheim folder and savegames files. then in steam -> setting -> local files -> check local files for error.
and it works for me.
