I am building a walled in farm on the borders of the plains and meadow, it's going well so far...


Do you need help recovering your gear and the iron? I'll be jumping on soon, and I could help you get it back if you like

I know that feeling all too well. Never, ever give in to your overconfidence.

Especially when you are overburdened with goodies. You will(!) die and lose it all.

BTW, abominations will become fairly easy once you have a L3 Troll armor and L2 Iron axe or sword and iron-banded shield.

Run in on them when they wake up and start swinging. By the time it has fully emerged its health is halfway down. Block the attacks with the shield and finish it for good.

Get the root armor. You want it.

If you haven't lost a ♥♥♥♥ ton of ore due to overconfidence then you ain't playing valheim right. Nice work bruv welcome to the pain

I used a ton of mods and devcomands. Went looking in the swamps for a surtling spawner to top up my core supply. Set the weather to 'clear' so it wasn't invisible, and the time of day to .5 (noon) so there was no rush. Then when I had some metal to bring home, I plopped a portal and brought my metal through it. I didn't see any abominations yesterday, but they can't climb onto crypts, so last time I riled one I just plinked him safely with cheap fire or wood arrows. Took a million, but he never touched me.

I had fun, But what you described doesn't sound fun. And I don't think you'd be here humblebragging about it if you weren't on the fence.

The game is a LOT more fun with adjustments.

Go god mode. Kill the abomination, get your stuff back. Play on.

Full troll armour is not a face tank build for sure. Strictly sneak and dodge and opportunity attacks.

At least you got killed by something tough. I can't tell you how many times I've died to trees, lol.

It always ends up that the tree I am chopping falls and hits another tree which also falls. As I watch which way both are going I jump to safety only to have them then collide in air and change course to hit me as I am in the middle of my jump to safety. -_- Damn trees are smarter then me . . . how sad. :(

They make for good stories though and I end up laughing it off . . . later on.

I die more tending my boar/wolf farm and around the base due to height missteps than most anything.

I can't live without Ward is Love now just for the permanent food while in base. No more falling below 100hp during a build and not noticing.

and i run faster away from falling trees than almost any monster

I stepped away to collect my thoughts. Got on a boat and managed to collect my gear and a couple stacks of the iron. i appreciate the offer <3

That is the nice thing about valheim, stuff doesn't despawn :)

Well, most stuff. Boat nails have an unpleasant habit of vanishing shortly after sinking.

That is one of the things I wished they alter. I think that as your jump height increases so should the height at which you can fall before you take damage. On my oldest toon I had a decent jump skill and would just jump off something really tiny and take damage. It made no sense to me.

Oh man, i can not keep a farm. made my base on a small meadow only island I found figured this would be good to keep skeletons away. started with the standard wooden fence for my pigs but the greydwarf shamans kept killing my pigs. farmed out some iron to make the iron cages and made a second fence about 2 floor spaces from the original wood fence... i came back 1 night after trying to find fuling totems and found 2 fulings inside my pen... safe to say i rage quit after that. lol

Oops, it looks like you're not having a very happy times now ... But I wouldn't give up on those fullings in a cage. Raise the dirt wall around the cage and put them some feed, maybe they will breed :-D ?
