According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, a mod is: specifically : a modification made to a software application (such as a video game) by a user in order to change the way the application looks or functions

By definition, a mod will always surpass the original game, at least in the mind of the mod's creator. Why else create a mod?

As to whether Iron Gate Studio will become discouraged because some people don't like its original game, I rather doubt it.

I never said anything about being creative. Can you point out the exact words I said that?

My original interpretation of the OP's comment, is that s/he was trying to diminish the work IGS had put into development of the game so far, by comparing it with modders who took what was already there, and just manipulated it. My comment has nothing to do with creativity.

Could end up like a skyrim thing....great base.....but mods keep the fire burning....I'm ok with that great job devs ....its hard work but the imagination runs faster than the coding

Yes, I definitely agree that mods certainly do help a large part of the player base in continuing to build amazing things. Long after I completed Elder Scrolls Morrowind, I spent a lot of time modding the game to make it more interesting.

You're right about creativity. I work with programmers for most of my adult life. Most of their creativity is still stuck in the 1990s.

It's easy to be a mod developer. They just have to take what is already there and manipulate it. On the other hand, the game developer actually has to do all of the work. No game developer, no modder. No modder, still game developer. ;)

Let's challenge any of the mod developers for Valheim plugins to create Valheim from scratch. Do it. Let's see how far they get.

Some mods are nice of course. I am not saying Valheim itself is perfect, and having mods for some people certainly improve on their game play. Perhaps in time, when the game is closer to full release, the developers can implement some of the ideas of some of the mods out there.
