Whelp looks like I've been unbanned from this forum......Lets see if voicing my opinion gets me banned again.......
Lets start from the beginning.......I bought this game when it released like day 1 and after almost 300 hours played I love this game, but there's a catch. I started to notice after a few months signs of the downfall of this game. So I really wanted to hop in discussions here and point out some common signs I had noticed beginning to form. Like for starters the dev's when posting about development and expansion of there self admitted "small" team were filled with excuses, starting minor and few and slowly by the month began to grow. I pointed out how 3 updates from dev's in succession were about them looking for a new office....and the fact they couldn't find one. Which is ludicrous with the amount of cash flow they had received by that time. I pointed out the fact that if you cant even find an office after months and months with some 100 million dollars in the bank this was foreshadowing of the failures to come. I called it out then and was immediately attacked by the community and subsequently banned by the mads for sparking toxic debate in the forums and spreading lies. This was a lie in itself which we all know now. After my 30 day ban and some additional time away i came back to the game I loved hoping to progress had been made to see only the modders had been hard at work and the dev team bought a horse and cancelled the roadmap. Still blaming covid as the problem by this time the had made another 50 million dollars in sales. I again then hit the forums full of p**s and vinegar hoping that maybe I could inspire others to demand the devs get to work and stop with the excuses and hire some help with the absolutely massive amount of money they made and I said it then if they dont start working on their own game more then the modders all hope will be lost. And once again I was immediately attacked by the same handful of people calling me racist and assuming I was a republican and a trump supporter and attacking me on all fronts like angry children obsessed with a dying game. And again I was banned this time for 3 months, which brings us to current day. I saw the news in my feed "valheim update" and I thought to myself hey maybe 3rd times a charm, and I was drawn back into the game again. So I excitedly opened the update teaser watched the video and was completely disappointed once again. Yes part of me felt happy that I wasn't wrong for all my criticism since the start. I was spot on when I said the devs were terrible at running a business and the proof was there in black and white. They took months to just find an office. They all took vacations. They bought a horse. They did almost no work on the game for 8 months. The modders at this point have created more content for this game then the entire game as a whole. They did exactly what I said they would do. They blamed covid took the money and let the game die. A game in which I truly enjoyed a game that had so much potential and they burned it to the ground. There is only two possible reasons for this (1) They truly are just taking the money and not intending on spending any of that money back into the game. or (2) they are so ignorant on how to run a company that they failed at every single decision they made. And have the slowest and poorest work ethic I've ever seen. The modders are proof to how easy this game is to work on and how much can be done by amateur coders. The proof is undeniable the modders have done more work for FREE then the developers have done for 200+ million dollars shows everyone who bought this game they are either lying to us or are the worst developers ever either way I am once again disappointed to see another great game die needlessly cause of either greed or dishonesty or simply terrible work ethic and the poorest of management. After so many months waiting for an update were getting literally something the modders could have done in a few weeks. And this B.S teaser of come play and see the secret maybe content....If there was content in this patch they would have said there was and there is not anything substantial here and its obvious. There has been so many many many threads and times the devs have been accused of not working on content and taking the money and running. So many many many threads over 8 months of people begging for content and guess what after all the massive player base leaving and the game in huge decline. The devs finally push out an update and they aren't telling us there is actual content? So back to my (2) reasons for this (1) they are lying to us and trying to squeeze a few more dollars from this game or (2) they are so clueless on how to run a company and so absolutely terrible at their jobs this is truly what we get after 8 months of development coins,colors,a few new wood pieces and a couple work benches and a whispered go F*** yourself encrypted in the fact we get no major content. At this rate actual content for this game will take decades. A game which I remind all of you modders have created mountains more content then the devs for free....with no money...no excuses ......no lies......just actual hard work.....for FREE....If you believe IRONGATE has your best interest in mind you are foolish and if its the other scenario and they are just the worst developers ever and so bad at everything that is involved in running a company in every single aspect then the result is the same. Coins,colors,knickknacks and disappointment. what a waste R.I.P Valheim I hope the handful of people who are gonna attack me after this post enjoy this game in 2034 when its finished.
