Is my world fatally flawed or just lovably wonky?
I reallly hope nothing is wrong as we are having a stone blast so far! But I'm starting to worry my world seed my be a, well, bad seed :)
For instance, The Meadows spawned with a bunch of vast pits and impossibly high pillars. Some of the pillars have ruined homes or runes on top even. The altar to summon Eikthyr was found at the bottom of a deep pit, requiring we build platforms to get down there, summon, and then scramble back up to fight at the top where Eikthyr spawned. Which was fun, don't get me wrong! But perhaps not as intended?
Moving out into the world I am not seeing any strangely huge pits or pillars but there seem to be huge tracts of the Black Forest that are completely underwater, with boars and Greydwarves swimming about in packs and skeletons next to what look like burial chambers on the ocean floor. These are sunk too deep for us to explore but their residents certainly are capable of plinking away with arrows as we sail overhead, heh. The first Elder summoning altars was itself deeply submerged but we found another on land, to our relief.
So, nothing game breaking thus far and I realize this is early access but before we pour too much more time into building out this world I'm curious if this is occurring for other folks or if I might have a game breaking flaw on my hands. Your insights much appreciated!

Thoughtless of me not to include pics in the first place and now you have motivated me to finally figure out how to post screenshots, so thanks!
Here's a shot of "The Pillars" that spawned in the Meadowlands near the starting point:

Here's me satisfying my curiosity as to what was on top of one of them. Turns out it was another Eikthyr stone!
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2888798493
Bit of a walkup but I liked the view from up there so much I decided to move in. Connecting the two pillars was an occasionally terrifying but very rewarding experience:

Currently trying to expand my cloud city (I call it "Madog's Folly") over to the next pillar but have been made painfully aware of the limits of building and how maybe you shouldn’t stand on that just yet while you’re 200’ up, idjit:

Edit, fixed last link.

Bad map generation. Try using the same seed on a new map and see for yourself

Thanks for the replies, folks. Seed is 9sHeW4hLBi. Not using any mods, no. I tried Fzanco's suggestion and started a new game and it looks very different than what I've been experiencing. So I think something went sideways when I was setting up the private server. Gonna keep with it as I love the weirdness. I'll report back if I find anything game breaking. Until then, thanks again for the insights and watch out for Deathsquitos!

I looked at your seed, its very brutal. You spawn on the edge of mountains which is not optimal. Your moder boss will expose mystlands.

Heh, well thanks for the head's up, PakaNoHida. Something to look forward to if I ever finish messing about with building projects. Until Valheim I never knew my heart's secret desire was to be a Viking landscape architect!

Thanks, UncleAcidic. Yeah, I think when I tried to port over an existing seed to the server I rented it did not go right. At first we despaired when we saw the smooth-sided, 300 foot deep pit that featured the Eikthyr summoning altar at the bottom, thinking the game world hopelessly broken. But then we figured we'd at least try to get down there so we spent a few hours building platforms and workstations to descend and it worked. We will proceed in that spirit and see what happens!

Update on continuing progress in my wonky world: Good news: After many weeks of exploring the Black Forest, I found the merchant! Bad news: He's on the bottom of the ocean floor
Now that also happened with the first Elder summoning altar we found but fortunately we found another one on land to use. For the vendor, though, I fear this might be a game breaking situation as I understand he spawns ONLY in the first location you uncover. Is that correct?
Perhaps a vain hope but maybe I can raise him from the sea floor somehow? He's not too far off the coast (eyes hoe speculatively).
Anyhow, your thoughts appreciated!

I remember someone else from a long time ago posting about not being able to get out the starting location because it was in a 100ft hole. Seems like yours has the same issue where the seed did not generate correctly by smoothing out the land ect.
