Darkwood rainproof kinda half useless?

So, ya the darkwood roofs look great and so do the parts, amazing.
But in terms of there trait of being treated and wont rot.
what purpose is there really for this?

Ya you could put beams in the water to make a bridge.
But any flooring you put on them would just rot away as there is no darkwood floor.
So, if your gonna use a roof to keep the rain off, you could just as well use the basic starter roof.
Also the darkwood is not strong enough to hold stone, so you cant use that as rot proof floors. since the iron beams do rot.

Why would they NOT!!! ad a darkwood floor or wall?

what valid thing would you do with these poles that makes sense and is not using other ducttape solutions to finish the job? since anything you atach to them will fall appart?

they are for decoration, as they look a lot nicer. The only reason the poles don’t rot in the rain is because tar is used in the recipe which repels water, so they made them waterproof. I doubt there will be extra options for darkwood considering it’s not meant to be used as waterproof wood and instead just for decor, as the waterproof part is simply extra.

Darkwood roofing protects anything underneath just like regular wood roofing does. A regular floor of wood will decay just the same. So will iron wood poles unless there's a roof on top. Just make a small roof supported by poles and you're fine.

The weather decay of wooden build parts in Valheim doesn't actually progress past 50% of item health, so it won't actually fall apart, but I agree it is strange to add darkwood build parts but not floors/stairs

download valheim + turn of building decay and actually enjoy the game.. it's so refreshing. People have been making buildings out of wood for thousands of years but in this game.. it rots.. lol.. OK.

People also paint, stain or use chemicals (pressure treated) to help preserve it and make it weather tolerant.

So as not to use the flat panels as a roof alternative. Make a covered bridge.
Everything, except your time & immortality, rots fast in Valheim.
Only Odin can approve darkwood flooring panels, direct your inquiries there.

wood like more tarwood options, especially stairs. i expected glorious looking ornamental wood stairs, but nope nothing... i even made some non usable asthetic tarwood stairs, out of beams. however they arent functional.

Maybe not every lil thing can be designed, programmed and tested to be reliably included in the game at once? Maybe wait until after the game exits EA? Remember how you could not build the Dvergr hexagonal door on mistlands release. And now you can. Things are being added and it takes time.

You do have a point though. I myself would like to see more darkwood build pieces and better snapping to other non-darkwood tiles, for one.
