Upgrade and farm new foods : top black forest are in the cauldron deer stew ( cook deer meat , blueberies and carrot ) , minced meat sauce ( boar meat , neck tail and carrot ) and carrot soup ( carrots and red mushroom )
With that youll be very OK , when explore swamp go for draugr guts to make sausages , kill leechs for blood bag to make black soup and farm turnips to make turnip stew . thats the top food in the swamp upgrading the cauldron to lvl 2
Gear , i recommend troll armor lvl 3 and bronze buckler ( block at time to parry ) until farm good numbers of iron and make full iron set at lvl 4 , with this gear you will not feel pain in the swamp
Oh and make a lot of anti poison me/ad at the cauldron

1. Better food. Get a piggy farm set up, run screaming through swamp to find the swamp veggie (onion or turnip i think..). Others have mentioned this
2. Use a bronze round shield so you can parry. Bone looks cool but is no good here. The knockback shields have their uses, some quite funny, but its ultimately not worth most of the time. Im sure someone can debate that but i find it to be true.
3. Consider going out on the sea to get an Abyssal Razor dagger
4. Poison mead
5. With usage of fire arrows, or with some parrying (bronze shield or better only), or both, you can kill an abomination or two and craft the root chest piece. It gives resistance to piercing, which will help with draugr archers. This may not be worth the time because they have a habit of booking it when they get low health.
6. Running away is perfectly fine. Not every fight is worth winning.
7. Consider terraforming paths, and scout things out and drop pins on locations for later.
8. Until you are an age ahead of iron its really bad to go in the swamp unrested. Your stamina will be nonexistent
9. Shoot corpse piles from a distance or avoid them. They have nothing interesting anyway.
10. So if you find a flame geyser in the swamp, kill the fire elementals. Don't be afraid. The swamp makes you wet forever and unless you are insanely unlucky or fantastically careless they cant kill you. They drop surtling cores. This flame geyser is also the most amazing way to kill an abomination, taking a few seconds. The elementals also respawn seemingly infinitely after a delay.

All this great, and ya Swamp and the Plains are a wake up, tbh I use the shield for Parry, but ya its kinda weak in swamps, you just got to make sure all your Forge is as high as it can be before Iron, I am sure it's said above, but look for a Swamp on the edge of the Meadows and set up a base just outside the swamp so its nice and sunny. and make roads etc, Noise will draw Everything out, the Tree thing, just run. Bow's are a great extra weapon max out a bow and kill leaches that way, heck for some reason Green slime's are somewhat weak vrs arrows, I just kite and kill

Level 3 bronze buckler, level 3 Troll armor set, deer stew, blood soup and honey, or, if you really feel generous, carrot soup.
I can block up to one star enemies, but of course not abominations.
Food is JUST as important as armor in this game. You don't have the right food, the best armor in this game won't help you.

Bone shield, whilst awesome, slows you down. Bronze buckler, and BETTER food is what you need. You can make way better at this point. You need a good balance of health v stamina for the swamp.

Unless they've changed it, enemies get stronger when you have multiple people. The draugr's are no joke, especially the bow ones if you get a 1 or 2 star one, they can pop you with a lot of damage out of the blue.
As others have said, better food is top priority. Shield that can parry is another. Potions actually start becoming important in the swamp. The poison resistance mead is a life saver, pop one once you get into the swamp to not be farted to death.
Another thing is, because you're playing with a second player; Communication is really important. I play with Mrs Whamy, and when we get to the swamp (or later) stages, we really get our game faces on and make sure to call out anything dangerous. That's the thing that kept us alive the best.

better foods for sure. look into what you can make. your first target in the swamp should be turnip seeds to cultivate turnips and upgrade your cooking station. good foods=good times. if you take a lot of hits then finishing the armor will help but avoiding attacks is good too. lots of more experienced players skip bronze armor all together.
parrying with the non-tower shields is better than just blocking but if you aren't comfortable with that yet then just make sure your shield is as maxed as you can

Sounds like you're still using basic foods (not even tier 1). Do you have a cauldron? You'll need a spice rack too but starting swamp you should be using boar jerky, deer stew, and queens jam or carrot soup.
Once you get some swamp stuff you can make sausages, turnip stew, and muckshake all of which are solid upgrades.
You'll need poison resist mead too. It's not quite as essential as it used to be but in bronze you'll definitely need it against leeches and oozes.

Your biggest problem is food.
By that time you should, at a minimum have carrot soup and boar jerky to go with your cooked dear (if you have a lot of blueberries make Deer Stew instead of just cooked Deer Meat). Boar jerky is made from boar meat plus honey in a cauldron. You get honey from beehivees you make after getting queen bees from wild nests in buildings in Meadows. Carrot seeds are found ion Black Forest, you'll need a cultivator to grow them and it'll take a couple game weeks to build up enough seeds so you have a reliablely sized crop of carrots every 4 days.
Your second biggest problem is you are using the wrong shield (except in special cases). You should be using a level 3 bronze buckler and learn to parry (practice on boars and necks in Meadows, and grays in Black Forest). On successful parry, it blocks more damage, uses less stamina, and has a decent chance of staggering the enemy compared to the bone shield.
Your third problem is your bronze armor is only level 2, it should be 3 by that point.
Hope that helps, good luck!

0k, the swamp is a real step up in difficulty from the black forest. I'll tell you how I do it and you can take from that what you'd like.
Deer, rasberries and blue berries really aren't your best bet here. The first move I make in the black forest is to get carrot food going. Starting out in the swamp, I try to be eating carrot soup, Dear pie, Minced meat substituting jerky for working time. That will add quite a bit of stamina and health.
You should switch from a sword to a bronze mace. A lot of the mobs in the swamp are weak to blunt.
The most valuable item in the swamp isn't iron, it is turnip seeds. Look for those little yellow plants like they are gold. The turnip food is fine but the upgraded cauldron (you need 3 turnips to do this) gets you sausages. Plentiful and powerful that really changes the nutrition game for your character.
You'll be at your weakest when you first enter the swamp while you are still essentially relying on bronze. So only go in during the day. Make sure you go into the swamp from another biome and work your way in. Keep your avenues of retreat always open and only go into the swamp at first when you need to and can gain from going in. Be skittish. Run from anything you can't easily beat. Use that hoe to transform your first swamp into a big muddy field and you'll be able to run from anything you can't beat.
You want to find a sunken crypt close to the border of your swamp. Go in with poison resistance in place, get into an accessable crypt, pull out your first load of iron and start upgrading your kit. I upgrade my mace first, then armor, then bow, then pick and finally axe. You might want to upgrade a different path but think it through.
Then the swamp gets a lot easier. I usually enter the swamp with my armor class at roughly 30. Pretty quickly, it goes to 50 with a root mask and that makes those draugs not as bad. At first run from Draugs with stars or anything elite, by the time you are eating turnips and sausage with iron armor and weapons, you can start fighting them.
So, get better food, start slow and work your way in, run from anything you can't beat easily and, as you improve your kit with iron, you can do more. Good luck!

In addition to what others have said, the draugr start coming at you very slowly and then run when they get close. Hit them with an arrow or two before they get to you.
