That depends on the person i guess. Graphics can add to the immersion and enjoyability. I personally detest stuff like Minecraft, but vanilla Valheim graphics are definitely enjoyable.

Eh..yes, but no?

I mean, say you have a game with the latest graphics that are super realistic, but the game was shallow in content, has a crappy backstory, clunky controls and tons of bugs... how enjoyable will you find that game really?

They are not mutually exclusive and obviously graphics alone can't make a game.

hd overhaul is based on willybachs and has some things changed.


but i can't find anyone who can say what changed from willybachs.

the only difference i could tell from some vids was that the beech trees looked less poly and more realistic in willybachs than in the hd overhaul. but, i couldnt really be sure.

the one texture i really dont like in willybachs is the stump for regular beech trees (not the white ones, sometimes i get them backwards). the stumps look like a blob.
Other than that, amazing mod! just what the game Needed.

Idk about others... But I kinda think that the games graphics as they are I think its charming and makes the game stand out from all the others.
That's one of the reasons i super like the game "for the king" too, it doesn't have to have 8K graphics to be a beautiful and fun game.
I do wish that my character did not get bald when she put on any helmet, but i am sure it will come or there will be a mod ^^
Ofc people are free to mod as they please, i just think that we should appreciate the simple things some more ;)

I think a low-poly game with high-res textures looks bad in my opinion. It's the same reason I don't like Minecraft with anything more than a 32x32 texture pack. You don't need that high of resolution if the poly count is still low.

Like sure the tech is impressive I guess with how absurdly 'realisim' they've managed to push the minecraft engine, but it just makes the game itself look like some weird bootleg minecraft asset flip when you got a bunch of basic cubes covered in highly detailed 8k textures and flashy fancy lighting and bloom all over the place

I will give that Willy fellow some credit though, they did pretty well with their textures for the environment stuff a lot better than most of those '4k HD Realisim' retexture packs.

But much like the others, starts to fall flat once they get to the player, mobs, and items.
