Does this game make Skyrim obsolete?

Is there any reason to play Skyrim after playing this?

I see Todd Howard can still afford to pay the audience. XD

Valheim has like 3% of the content skyrim has.. after a couple hours you have seen everything
The question should be is there any reason to play Valheim after defeating the last boss in it´s current state of development

At this point seems that no one is either capable or interested in make an open world game to rival Skyrim. So if anything will make Skyrim obsolete will be the future TES VI. And that's if Bethesda doesn't mess up.
Considering their recent record... I hope that they go back on track.

Valheim is nice, but it's more a Viking Conan Exiles than Skyrim. Skyrim is another beast entirely.

Quests? Character interactions? Story? Well, and more advanced fighting system.

You clearly played Valheim too few hours.
To me, it got extremely repetitive after 60 hours and dropped it. (even online villages with 10 people became pointless in my view)

So about Skyrim....
Let's avoid these comparisons please....

Yes. All games have been rendered obsolete by Valheim. Steam are actually taking down every other game at the end of this year.

Mark his words, could not agree more. Valheim is where it's it!

This game is NOTHING like Skyrim, that being said, Skyrim was made obsolete when Fallout New Vegas came out.

Definitely not. And not only because Skyrim was released AFTER New Vegas, but because the only thing that could render Skyrim obsolete is a new (and good) Elder Scrolls game. 10 years later and Skyrim still has a lot of players, with people still making new mods to this day.

I know we all love this game but c'mon now.

Yea, I know, but he first makes a valid point of Valheim being nothing like Skyrim and then makes this other, pretty ridiculous, claim. Doesn't seem like a joke which made me wonder...

As for the question of the OP. No, I don't see this making Skyrim obsolete. Different games and different audiences, with some overlap. I have no interest in Skyrim - find the Elder Scrolls to be a pretty dull experience - but have enjoyed Valheim very much.

Yeah that's the thing about TES games, they will always have an audience. Especially now that Bethesda make extremely casual games that anybody can just jump right in, they have an infinite supply of consumers.
