Sorry, but it was meant as reply to Trakehners post. Yours wasnt helpful at all, so rather useless.

due to the nature of people and the anonymity of being on the internet, having an open unprotected server is a bad idea. it will invite the bad element and they will grief you and invite their griefer friends to help take your server down or make it unplayable for you.

I accidently did that once on a 7 days to die server I rented. and added a service that let me monitor everyone and their inventory. amazing how many people would just cheat.

I remember the problem with no protection from malice console commands from the time of the release. Ive expected that they took at least some care of that until now....
but hey, after JUST 5 years in development you probably cant expect wonders..right? :steamsad:
Bad developer - no cookie?!? :steammocking:

Firstly, This game hasn't been 5 years, as it is only 1 year year, 10 months since it came to Steam EA.

Secondly, The game is / was NOT developed to be an "open world" or pvp game... It is being developed as a SOLO or "coop with friends" (people you trust) type of game.

As such, there are limited commands to deal with bad people that you might have allowed into your game because, again, the devs assume you are inviting people you know / trust into your world.

youd probably need powerful anti grief tools, some of which valheim plus already has like no damage to player buildings. but rolling back a character's specific actions id also consider needed, i know terraria had that in some of its mods. so if one player teraforms a giant chunk of land u can just type a command and poof, fixed. id also consider chest locks needed lol

I've seen plenty of people on these forums speaking of griefers. Spawning in a bunch of bosses on people's bases, stealing, etc.

Unless it's an old world you don't care about I wouldn't recommend it personally.

As a wise man once said: "Some people suck."

Those sucky people will find your world, and they will take and destroy every possible thing they can.
