RIP to Controlling Text Alignment by Using Blank Spaces

Before the latest patch, you used to be able to add blank spaces after a word (when labeling a sign) to change the word's alignment. Now blanks spaces mean nothing unless there's a character at the end. For example:

My signs are placed off-set so I can make them flush with the chest and not click on them accidentally when opening them.

Because the signs are offset, I could center "Iron" by typing "Iron " in the sign. Now, Valheim ignores those blank spaces. RIP

I noticed that too. Sad. But here is what I did to center the text. Not I have a 1x1 wall either side of my chest and two 1x1 floor pieces above the chest.
1. Remove chest and sign.
2. Place a 1m pole using left shift to be centered where the chest will go but recessed just a bit.
3. Place the sign centered on the 1m pole.
4. Remove the 1m pole which will leave the sign floating where it was placed.
5. Set the text for the sign.
6. Place the chest back so the text just shows through.

And ta-dar! You are back in business.

Did you try adding an unprintable character at the end?

Unprintable characters do not seem to work. It appears that the text does not float off the signs anymore. So the text shrinks and adds line breaks.
