Solo and multi can be quite different experiances, both work thou. There is lots of experiances to share with others, but mechanically there is nothing really that makes solo unviable. And solo you can play your own pace instead of waiting for / being drag about by others.

There is not too much grind solo, except if you want to build a huge base for the fun of it. But then there are console commands and other tricks to make it easier if thats your objective. The game really have many ways to enjoy it, thats why the answers you get are mixed.

If you are looking for a exploration and building game, it might be a bit "hard". But the combat itself leaves plenty room for skill or gear to shine through.

Gridnly, but playable. Just remember to use teleports as much as possible.

solo is probaly harder overall but totally possible. game is pretty well balanced for an early access title. of course there is still SOME issues aswell.

do not fight on uneven ground. like. DONT. that area really needs improvement still.

everybody here so dramatic. Solo is easy, combat is absolutely easy, grind is super well optimised, you never feel bored because you dont have to do much of it. (unless you are a builder freak)

I put in around 500 hours since mistlands launch purely solo. So yea....it's worth it to me 🥵😭💀😵‍💫😂

Maybe not. Depends on how much combat skill you can pick up and be aware that deaths in this game will reduce those skills each time. I'm in no way skilled at combat and yet have only played solo. For me "the grind" is what I do to compensate for my poor combat skills. Make sure each challenge is met with maximum weapons, maximum armor and maximum nutrition and those maximums typically require a fair amount of grinding. But if you give it a try you may find that balance between grind and go-for-it combat that fits your own play style. Valheim is a big tent. We have all kinds here. Welcome aboard!

if you enjoy these kinds of games, yes. i play solo a lot, and ive been able to beat some of the bosses without help, but i do prefer to play with friends.

I mostly play solo, occasionally with friends. This game is awesome solo, if you don't mind grind and difficulty. If you don't like grind and difficulty, there are mods and dev commands. I LOVE this game solo. I have about 1800 hours in, and only about 60 hours with friends.
