Is anyone else's pigs getting out?

I'm exhausted at this point. first i tried with just fences but the pigs kept getting out somehow. so i tried with wall segments but they were getting out of that. then i tried digging a hole with sheer walls but they somehow got out of that too. on top of that....some of them would remain in my base, id come home to find them running around outside their hole, but others would disappear entirely. ive lost all but 1, 2 star boar. i never had this problem before the hearth n home update. is anyone else dealing with pigs magically getting out of their pens?

Where there is to many animals, they stack stacking on each other and ending up pushing out.

You can build a roof over a pit and hadly any will come out.

I said the same exact thing, until my last 2 pigs magically got out. 1 disappeared completely and the other was running around my compound

it's not a birthing problem for me. I only had 2 pigs left and they both got out. I'm also not using fences at this point. its a big hole in the ground with floors over the outer edge to keep them from body piling out. i'd share a picture if i knew how

build a better cage

I can confirm the problem. We never had any problems with pigs in our 2 multiplayer playthroughs. But in H&H every few games a pig 'escapes' from the pighouse. Either on server start or after teleporting back to base.

It's not the situation when the piglet is born outside, but we've seen pigs load outside of pighouses. Pigs were named (with numbers) so we're sure that these were not piglets born outside.

Something is wrong and I agree with @Jitatha - it's probably entity-loading bug.

Maybe it is due to a draw order, i.e. monsters before buildings. So the boars pop in before the fence and if a bit enough base, they are through wall before it really exists.

I had an issue with this for a bit. The seem to have found a spot the could walk up. Piglets would sometime be... umm born out of the fence. I have more boar meat and leather than I need right now... so I'm just holding by current flock at it's current size of about 5-7

This seems to have stopped of late.

Keeps happening in our multiplayer world, but not one of my single-player world's boars has escaped.

Both boars are in a stakewall pen, and it's always an adult boar that "escapes".

Have never had this problem with a pig farm. But if you keep breeding them does it matter if some escape every now and then?

Yeah it keeps happening to me as well, along with Loxes. I've tried 1 wall, 2 walls, a wall and a ditch, 2 walls and 2 ditches, they still. get. out. i've tried pits, they still get out.
I'm convinced Boar/Lox are just ethereal animals.

its happening to me with my wolfes. sometimes i come back and they walk around the compound but there is no breach in the fence that keeps them in one area.

This^
Happens too me all the time. If you have an elevated breeding stand to a piglet drop pen be sure there is no way the piggy can catch on something and get outside where you want them. This vid addresses the "dropping outside" issue starting about 8:45.

A super genious on here suggested making pig pits instead of fences. SO that is what I did, and it works well. Stuff sometimes attacks your fencing. The boars may themselves if they get frightened by a mob. So if you don't use pits, you have to check/repair your fencing maybe once a week, or every other week - whatever case may be.

I capurted a 2 star and checked the fence twice to repair before he was tame. I had a raid and greydwarves seemed more interested in getting at my 2 star boar that was being tame then me. That was fun as I had to kill the mod without knocking a fence down as they were right next to it

My training pen is still fenced, but them I push them into a channel that drops into the pig pit.
