Stamina Regen

Am I the only one having an issue with the snails pace stamina regen? I feel that even when rested, stamina is used up much too quickly and regens much too slowly, making combat more of running circles around your enemies till you can attack type ordeal rather than an actual interesting fight.

Early game if you can get 10 tin ingots you can make a cooking pot and make better foods that give bigger health and stamina bars.

You can reach 7 stamina bars with that. Even before that you can also eat 2 types of cooked meat to get a really big buff, might reach up to 6 stamina with that already.

Just to add to the good info on here, don't just spam attack in combat. Learn to pace yourself, time your attacks, absolutely learn to parry because it will lead to both less stamina use to negate incoming damage and outputting damage.

Rested bonus gives +100% stamina regen. Keep it active at all times and return to base when it wears out.

The size of the stamina bar does not change recharge rate. It lets you bank more stamina at one time.

Also if you find a big rock you can use your pickaxe to dig under it for quick shelter. Build a fire and even a bed and you're good to go.

Basically repeating what other have said but... get your comfort level up at home to retain the rested buff the whole time you are adventuring. Don't go out at night or otherwise get frost resistance to avoid the cold debuff. Keep fed for a large stamina bar - even high HP food can give a big boost to stamina, but there are several foods that can give a big boost to stamina specifically. Carrot soup is easy to farm up and gives a large stamina boost. Finally, avoid getting wet - this is the only painful one since you can't avoid this in the swamp so if you're in the swamp sorry it's just awful and keep chugging until you get past it - it gets better after you've finished it.

Just always have that rested bonus and eat decent food, easy as that.

Eat food, and don't go out at night, also don't get wet. Other than that, just learn to manage your stamina.

Debuffs like cold and wet impact your stamina regen, always try to keep rested bonus on (stand next to a fireplace and press x, wait for a few seconds, get rested bonus).

1. make campfire
2. press X to sit next to it
3. wait 20-30 seconds to gain an 8 minute buff that doubles your stamina regen
4. rest in a house with furniture to raise comfort to gain more time on rested
5. burial chambers and crypts count as indoor rest areas if you bring supplies to make a campfire

If the regen would be higher the game would be even easier and the stamina potions would be useless.

Ah, young padawan, you do not yet understand the stamina system.

Eat three types of good food. When it starts to wear off (begins to blink in the UI or disappears from the UI) then it's time to eat more food. This will give you more stamina in your stamina pool, and more health in your health pool.

It's extremely important to gain the rested buff as explained above by Lunacy. When it gets low, refresh it. You will not have any issue with stamina if you do these very simple things. As you progress in the game better food will give you a larger stamina pool. If you're wet you can't regain the buff, so 30 seconds won't be long enough to sit by a fire if you're wet, it'll take a bit longer to dry out first.

The stamina system works well and is no hindrance at all if you learn how it works, and how to manage it properly. It actually returns rather quickly unless you're both wet and cold, or freezing. These things debuff your regeneration and they should.

Good luck figuring it out.
