Save the Dvergrs!
I just used the puffer fish technique to take one of their settlements to claim the extractor. This was one of the low points in my Valheim experience. If they were evil and targeted us when we entered their area it would be preferable to deliberately - or with subterfuge - betraying their trust to get their extractor. Please developers. Either make them hostile or allow us to trade thousands and thousands of coin to buy the extractor or make us fight an army of soldiers. Are we not Viking warriors? Not Judas Iscariot.

You could just steal the first one and run away. Maybe drop a few 1000 gold as compensation. Then break open further crates with refined eitr, and no-one will aggro.

Many thanks all but the topic is not about tactics it is about ethics.
Way to move the goalpost.
Ethic debates are almost impossible to win, for either side.
You either kill them, or you dont. Just play the game.
How is it moving the goal posts? His first post was about the morality of attacking neutral entities.
I dont know, I feel like it's pretty clear that it's not ethical to start slaughtering the guys that greet you to take their stuff.

They are invaders to these lands just like you or the Zerg. Its like discussing ethics of pirates (the yarr kind) fighting each other... we can go there but chances of getting something to ease your mind is really low. Many thanks all but the topic is not about tactics it is about ethics.

Vikings are brought to Valheim as warriors of Odin, we have infinitely higher purpose in this prison world than any other being, or vastly higher right to desecrate the graves of gods' foes than the dvergr do, at any rate. It is we who tolerate their presence, not the other way around.

I can respect that but the point of the post is to actually go there. We all have games that appear in our favorites category for one reason or another. I like games that have an unambiguous moral compass. The developers can enrich the dvergr narrative to make them more villainous or even have them take a warning shot at us when we approach. But having them say "welcome" and then we either shoot them in the face or do a smash-and-grab is not something that even Captain Jack Sparrow would do. we can go there but chances of getting something to ease your mind is really low.

M'eh, we're all in a layer of Viking Hell....so the 'innocent' are sent here, to Hell? Just sayin'...just because they don't aggro on the Player, does not mean they are 'good' in character. Everyone here seems to have offended Odin in some way or another...we, as the player, are the Redeemer...

You can just steal an extractor without killing anyone, or freely loot one in the open, especially from the mining camps.

Yeah, it's pretty much in line with what we know of viking culture. Raiding, slavery, all that jazz.

True. But they were up front about it and even advertised intent by mounting the headpiece on their dragon vessels when coming up the rivers for those purposes instead of peaceful trading. Even the ruthless had a code. Imagine if we approached Haldor and said "hey look up there!" and then boosted his wagon while he was distracted. It's one thing to practice war is deception on your enemy and another to sucker punch a friend.

Just kill em or don't have magic. When the games complete I'll do no magic/no dverger kill run. But for now they die where ever I see em 😈 mwahaha
