It's fine for solo, but resource gathering will take some time.

its ok, its kinda like viking 3d terraria, where your character has skills and items that they can transfer between worlds. So you can get it solo, play a bit (there is a slog grind but the building is pretty free), then if you get friends to play it you can bring your items over if you dont want to grind again.

There are a few mechanics im not fond of in solo, like raids, but those only become a problem after the 2nd boss when trolls spawn.

Its a bit riskier, you being the only target for the mobs and all. Also, dying in solo is much more of a pain if you didn't prepare for it, but its perfectly fine.

About half my 119 hour playtime is solo, maybe more. The game can be frustrating but solo is all right.

You have to proceed into new things with more caution than in multiplayer, resource gathering for making bases and ships is more time consuming, and you can't split scouting up with other people.

On the positive, resource production is less time consuming because there's less demand, you spend less time scouting for and mining metal because you need less, and you have some hope of keeping your chests organized.

I always Play Alone, I don't play well with others.

If you like playing solo, you will probably get 100's of hours in this game. I play solo most of the time.

Entirely possible just may have to cheese some bosses.

Solo is more than viable (I play almost entirely so) and you will not have to cheez any bosses at all.

Like any other survival game if you go into an area or into a fight prepared you will be fine.

Solo is just less forgiving than multi where you have 'back up' in the form of other players.

Also keep in mind that mobs are stronger the more people that are in the game.
