I am currently trying to research why this game has gained so much attention since it's release and cant seem to figure it out. I'm keep hearing the same stuff from different people "It's the same old survival game we've seen dozens of times but simply better". Okay....but how??? The combat (from an outsider's prespective) seems boring as hell, the graphics are as outdated as they can possibly be, there is linear progression which forces you to complete the same quests in order to progress your character every time you decide to attempt a playthrough which hurts the replayability and to top it all off I havent seen a single unique game mechanic that I havent seen somewhere else already which is especially bad considering that this is supposed to be a survival game,and survival games are usually marketed based on their unique ways of making the most basic means of survival interesting and different.

But I'm not here to rant about the game,afterall my knowledge is rather limited on it, so please, if you played the game for a considerable amount of time and would like to help me understand what is it that makes this game so special,so appealing to so many people then by all means do so, I'd really appreciate it.
