Seekers and safe basebuilding in Mistlands
Hi there,
I just startet to build a stone-fortress half in the plains, half into the mistlands (right on the border). I want to build as high as possible, based on an high earthen plateau with stonewalls on the plateau. A kind of castle, that reaches out of the mist into the plains.
There are some things I´d like to know before getting really serious about it:
1) Do i have to expect seekerattacks landing on the roof and destroying it, while i am doing buisness in the base? The seekers won´t have a line of sight to me, because the castle will have a complete roof above the whole base (about 30x50 blocks or so).
2) I am building on an ancient root. Does the sap extractor only extract 10 and then the root goes weak and i have to build it in another place? Or do I just have to wait a bit and then rebuild the extractor? Or just letting it stand there and wait until the root recovers? How long does that take?
Thx for your help, if you have something in mind that could be a problem while building your base into the mistlands plz let me know.

More or less educated guess, it's possible, but unlikely. It depends on terrain and if you're thinking about events or random enemies. The former can be disabled by defeating the boss and the latter should only be a sporadic threat. You could attempt to build something like stylish iron fencing/railing around the roof just in case.
Gjall present a much greater threat to any wooden constructions. I'd suggest building like the dvergr do: Only use wood for interior construction.

Defo recommend a Black Marble block house or simialr over your root tap. Even Dark woods only good for a few Gjall blasts. Stone lasts a decent bit longer black marble longer still. An Arbalest on the roof when you can make 'em is prolly a good idea as well :)
Luck to you!

The roots regenerate but it takes several in game days before they are back to the "pulsing with power" state.
