Problem finding Moder
Hi,
I've got the marker for where he is, but I've turned up and theres nothing there, there is a stone building a bit to the side but nowhere to make offerings, and I've tried digging down where the ritual site should be but still nothing.
Is this a bug that can occur? and if so can I find another site to summon him, or will I just need to restart.

@The Ugly Monster: Are your circumstances the same as OP = Did you find a dungeon with a Vegvísir (red glyph on the stone) which gives the location of the "Sanctuary" and then, going there, found nothing ?

Anybody else had this? just want to know if its a bug on older maps (made this seed when the game first launcher pretty much) so I'll need to make a new one, or if theres a simple fix.

I think some maps had the spawns move around. did you find the marker recently, since the patch? It may even update if you revisit the stone to reveal the site (I have not tried this)
- all bosses have many spawn sites, usually at least 3-5
- you can try your map in the online viewer if you want to avoid a long search for the next mountain

When you check your location on the map vs the Moder map marker, are you zoomed in all the way? If you are not completely zoomed in, you may actually be quite a distance away from the location you want to be.

The autor of https://valheim-map.world/
had a pop up a few days ago that explained that there is a issue with relocated Boss altars if you started with a Early H&H map and now play on the updated version.
Cant remember every detail from that pop up

Thanks I'll try that.
I'm definitely zoomed in as much as I can, and have walked all over the place. I've checked the seed checker and it shows his spawn as where I am as well, it's just not here. Hopefully the genloc will fix it as I did literally made this seed almost right after the game went on early access.

hmmm tried that and it says "not valid in current context", does that mean it should be there and this site is just bugged?
Guess in the meantime I'll sail to another spot he spawns at and just hope this time it works.

I had this happen with an Elder location with a map created after H&H. It currently shows two locations for the Elder pretty close to each other, but one of them is not real.

it did the genloc thing now, so just need to recheck and hopefully it'll be there now!
The only other one is like a 20 minute sail away.
Bah didn't work, guess I'll try the other location and if that isn't there just make a new seed.

i have the same problem. In every seeds i play, i don't have "the sanctuary" to put the eggs of drake. So i can't fight against moder... Someone has an idea?
