You can take whatever you can carry from an old world to a new one if you'd like.

If you already explored most of your world, which includes a lot of the big mountains and the north and south poles, which are new biomes, I suggest starting again, and yes you should bring things from your other playthrough, even if most people recommend the contrary, not everyone has the time to start valheim from the ground up.
But if that's not the case, or you already has a lot of things stored/farmed/mined, it's not needed, just don't go to the superior and inferior extremes of the map yet and you're set. And maybe for convenience you could use the valheim online map, for the last added biome.

Okay cool, Ill bring along a few thing then, Online map?

i did a replay but i brought the greatsword and finewood bow back for decent start.
a sort of custom "story/lore" playthrough.
im a mercenary in valheim, the last human here too. well, odin has a shopping list of heads i need to collect so here we go...

There is an online world seed map that someone may have been referring to. It helps to find either an ideal seed or just to know ahead of time on the seed you've chosen where things are. Here is the URL if you are interested: https://valheim-map.world
