I finally worked out what the problem is: on my Inspiron PC, the 'F' function keys only work in game if I press the 'fn' key at the same time (it's on the bottom right of keyboard usually next to 'ctrl'. fn + F5 works now, and this might be the problem others could be having too.

you do have f5 so now you need type into that devcommands press enter
all the cmds will now work when you see devcommands is good.

Did a reboot of PC, restarted Steam...got -console in the Valheim Launch Options...nothing happens in game with F5. It's a total mystery. :{

I used Devcommands once before they changed it, on an older Laptop, and it worked fine. I haven't played Valheim since getting my new PC, but saw the Patch notes that said the process had changed and made a note of that.
I'm just not getting the command entry field coming up when I press F5 so I assume this new process is failing somewhere.
I did see something flash past on one of the forums about...roughly...laptops having trouble with the new process. Think there is any truth in that?

Yes, I did the full restart of Steam, still no luck. Unless I have to reboot my computer entirely...which I'll try in a little bit. After that, I have no idea how to get this to work. :{

Exit Steam fully using the Top lefy Steam r/click it and exit then restart.
