Moder would have been easier for me if it wasn't for the stone golem that was also there at the time o.O
I had to deal with her and the drakes plus keep that golem off my back LOL

I have never found silver without a golem nearby. They are a good indicator of silver.

If the mountain is big and high enough to have Obsidian, it can also have silver veins. We never found a single silver vein in an area without Obsidian. If you find Drakes, Stone Golems and Obsidian, you're in the right area.

No need for wishbones if you have Iron Sledge and/ or Stagbreaker. Just slam the ground and if you get a "Too hard" message with no Obsidian around (so mine this first!) you found silver.

Just keep looking for more mountain biomes. I had this problem BAD with swamps in my previous playthrough. No lie, I spent a good 6 hours sailing around, only finding swamps with zero (or one single crypt) in them. Luckily I found a vigvizer in one of them that led me to the boss, which had several crypts to mine.

Silver? Meh, that isn't so hard to find, but finding the vegvizer to Moder, the mother of dragons... that will make finding silver simple by comparison ;)
I had to search 11 mountain ranges, over half of which had silver, before I found the right one. The right one is a mountain that is HUGE and makes all other mountains seem like molehills. The good news is, when you do find it, you can't go wrong... it will have wolves, skellies, drakes, golems, silver and the ritual site you'll eventually use to summon her.

Ha! that's funny because in my last playthrough I stumbled on her spawn location in the very first biome I started looking for silver in. No vegvizer needed lol.

Sadly, if I'm going to mention that I have to mention this. During the boss fight, Moder destroyed my portal, and, while I was trying to rebuild it, she destroyed me. I sailed all the way back, with some backup gear on, but with all the drakes and wolves along the way to my grave, and the fact that moder is on you the instant you re-activate the boss zone, she killed me again, and I abandoned the game to start over.

The end.

Moder, for some reason, was the only boss I didn't defeat the first try. Took me three times before I got her, and barely survived the last battle (Ended it with 17hp's, at night)

Silver is weird, I searched like 4 mountains and found nothing, then I found 1 mountain that contained all the silver I needed for my character to make and upgrade everything that uses silver.

bigger the mountain the better chance for silver, and a mountain not close to the starting point, iv never found silver near starting base always have to boat out, bring a portal and build a smelter near the silver preferably the closest black forest, there you find the copper and tin needed to get your blacksmith up to level 3-4 to build you silver armor and weapons, Goodluck!

I've fought her twice already in previous playthroughs and didn't have much problems, this last time though I built my portal too close and she destroyed it, and instead of picking up the mats and running, I tried to rebuild it behind a rock, thinking I was hidden. Then she blasted me from behind and killed me.

I made an attempt to recover my grave, but the trip up the mountain just burns too much stamina, even with eikthyr, added to that the enemies along the way, and the fact that moder is right on you instantly, I didn't even get close to my grave with my backup gear on. I'd rather just start over than do all that grinding again

I wasn't maxed, but I did have silver armor/cape/potion/good food going. I think I had a maxed iron helmet and not the drake helmet though. But my problem is I was being lazy and instead of running to safety after my portal was destroyed, I decided to rebuild it close by, and got blasted in the back with ice pillars. Didn't even see it coming.

Oh ok, fair enough. I just remember that when I did it I got clipped a few times but it never took off more then 1/4 of my health. Bonemass was way harder.

It's too small. Look for mountains large enough to host golems and you'll find silver.

Sometimes you will even find silver veins exposed on the surface without need of the wishbone. Just FYI.
