Mob spawning and game balancing.
I like the potential this game has, the building mechanics and everything about it, but unfortunately with the latest updates the mob spawning is simply obnoxious.
Playing duo, me and my friend simply couldn't afford to enjoy the game as we've been constantly greeted with 1 and 2-star enemies (aside from the Raid events).
Don't get me wrong, the Raids and the idea of mobs spawning is alright (aside from the fact that many spawn instantly aggro'ed to you), but dear LORD, why so many 1/2-star mobs all of a sudden? I get if the scaling was proper and one would be able to parry them, Trolls aren't even that big of a problem to deal with as a single one can be easily kited.
But hordes of Greydwarfs, half of them 1-star with a 1-star or 2-star Shaman and a Brute is overkill - and mind you, this didn't happen "once in a blue moon", it's a regular occurence.
Maybe it's random, maybe it's been tweaked and the spawn chance increased, but there's a difference between things being challenging and being outright irritating to deal with.
I've completed the game with a group of 4 friends before Mistlands were added, but trying the game now playing as a duo, it's really difficult to ENJOY the game.
These are just my latest observations, anyone else experienced such issues?
(don't you try to "git gud" me)

star chance was not changed at all in the last year aside for ticks.
its 9% chance for an enemy to be a 1 star and 1% chance for an enemy to be a 2 star enemy.
so its just bad luck on your end. nothing got changed. rng be like that sometimes.
enjoyment is subjective. the game is harder the less players you have thats just normal. enemy get a dmg and health boost for any player thats close enough to them. this caps at 5 players.
so if you played before with 4 people and now with 2 its gonna be more difficult. its really that simple.

git gud... rng
Dont think much have changed. Ive seen a lot of starred greydwarfs in black forests not so close to spawn in way old patches... Maybe you were closer to spawn on your previous adventure, maybe it was different group of friends that made it feel ok.
As far as i can remember hordes of greydwarfs were always a problem... thou i agree black forest is my least favourite biome because there is juts too much of these pests running around.
In fact i think star chance on some mobs like wolves was DROPPED since older patches. These days i can go entire playthrough without seeing a 2 star wolf. 1 stars during daylight are extreamly uncommon too. Same with 2 star draug archers... So yeah stuff was probably adjusted, but only a little and more to smooth out the difficulty.
Or it could be RNG ... humans are, by nature, extreamly bad at judging it. So just like the wind is always against you when you are in a hurry, if one thing does not go smoothly, suddenly everyting else is more difficult.
